A rejoinder expressed more or less as below has niggled me ever since reading a parody Malcolm Higgins (http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/randybachman0.shtml) “[wrote] for the election trail 2012].”
Folks, I’d rather live in D. C. than near Nome
as boss at the White House or ’neath Capitol dome.
Tho’ traitorous Libs have for now sent me home
my ambition should have’em all quailin’,
for in 2012 I'm comin' back and I'll show’em
that it’s time for Sarah Palin.
My critics write my IQ’s not as high as 10,
but I’m not a dunce. If I just had the yen
I could learn what I should, but why bother when
the same folks who once sent Dan Quayle in
(hoo coodent spel gud az a thurd-grayder kin)[1]
are behind me, Sarah Palin?
With tax-and-spend asses[2a] I’m itchin’ to brawl --
we pachys[2b] spend more taxing no one at all
except folks whose incomes are middling or small
with our retrogressive tax scalin’.
(And when Barnum-bait voters buy such folderol,
that’s the clime for Sarah Palin.)
I’m using my time while to Seward’s ’Fridge[3] banned
to seize photo-ops showin’ how I’ll command
(like savin’ Tom Turkey from T-Day’s demand
with his fellow fowls back o’ me flailin’
as their heads were lopped off and their blood freely ran)[4]
when it’s time for Sarah Palin.
I hardly can wait ’til these four years have passed,
to lead my right-wing reactionist caste
with rhet’ric, this time exactly as last,
America’s eardrums assailin’
that’s as sound as (and sounds like) the flatulent blast
that defines me, Sarah Palin.

Ms P’s comment? “[After so much ], um, heavy-handed politics that, um, invites criticism …[a]t least this was fun .”

If this parody supports Parah Salin, then it won't get a high vote in the how funny and overall categories, that's for sure. But I do think it's well written

I really don't mind whether or how you may have voted on them, but if you can find _anything_ in _either_ parody that's even remotely positive toward or supportive of the Palin nuisance, please point it out to me so I can remove it!!! :-)

Stan, this parody is at least as funny as the one you did with Sarah Palin as the subject with the same OS just before the election, but I believe that we would be more likely to have Hillary Clinton, Geraldine Ferrero or possibly Condoleezza Rice as prez than Palin. 5s.
Thanks, 2Eagle and Andria -- that's the whole point. There's no lack of capable, well-qualified women to run for and/or become Pres or Veep, and yet McCain's ill-advised ploy has invested this numbskull Palin with unshakable delusions of grandeur. Oh well ... she's dandy fodder for parodies. :-)
Me? No, that was probably Mr 1's; I've seen comments from him on parodies that seem to support Parah Salin and co.
I found that other parody that you were referring to, and the anonymous commenter was "A Person Who'd Rather Not State His Or Her Name"

:-) Some marvellous rhymes (favourite was show'em)... and to disagree with A Person's first comment: a parody supporting SP couldn't help but have humour running through it. I for one wouldn't be able to take it seriously

As for "croper," shrug. I don't know whether I'm amused or simply mystified that s/he inferred "gayness" from the content of a parody that neither mentions nor alludes to the topic in any way whatsoever. In any case,
1) tossing verbal sticks and stones is surely as much his/her privilege as mine, as exercised in this parody but it'd certainly be funnier and more imaginative (and maybe even more effective) done in parody, and, more importantly,
3)I'd really hate to see this -- or any -- _comment_stream_ devolve into a Terhunesque exchange of political rants.
Oh, BTW, I do live, and for most of my life have lived, in (actually, just outside) DC and love it. I haven't been to Nome, so can't comment on its relative merits. :-)

Amusing as hell how this one's from all 5s-rated a couple years ago to a 1s collector more recently. Invasion of the 'Baggers at AIR? Thing is, the 1s-bombers leave no comment or name -- must be ashamed of themselves. :-)
