The Lyrics

As Obama waits for his Presidency, I'm not sure he planned on this financial crisis as part of his presidential plan.
Oh, Hank Paulson draws billions, country sat in shock
I'd ask him what the matter is, but I know that he don't talk
And the Senate treats him badly as he yearns for his escape
But deep inside his heart, he knows he's using tape.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

With Paulson, stocks cannot rally, with his pointer and his cell,
He's speaking 'bout some tranche loans, I know he knows them well
And he would send a message to find out if we were in hock,
But the Treasury has been stolen and bailout is a lock

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Many tried to warn him, don't pay with that credit line,
They said that all those Wall Street men just soak up your loans like wine
And I said, "Oh, I didn't know that, but then again there's only one I met,
And he just screwed my retirement and put me deep in debt".

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Lehman died, t'was weak, and now GM's on the rocks
But everybody still talks about how badly they were mocked
But me, I expected it to happen, I knew they'd lost control,
When, uh, Bear went down on Wall Street and AIG's on the dole.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Now the Senators came down here telling everyone they're done
handing out free credit, so people, you get NONE
And me, I just got busted and wouldn't it be my luck
to get caught without some credit and my pockets without a buck.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Now the Senators looked so baffled when I asked them why they addressed
those auto guys with deadlines, like I would be impressed,
But they cursed me when I proved to them, then I whispered and said, "It is now just your hide.
You see it's just TV, you dopes, you caused the slide.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Now old Paulson gave us more cures and he said "Good again",
The one was sev'n hundred billion, the others were just pure spin,
Investments, they just mixed them with no way to unwind
And portfolios just got uglier as they wallowed in the slime.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

When Barrack says come see him if you need some money soon
I can watch him dance for free on CNN real soon.
And I say, "Aw, c'mon now, you've bankrupted my poor old aunt,"
And he says, "Your government just knows what you need and work is what you want.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Now the pricks play on Wall Street, the AIG men did climb
into their spas so perfectly, it all seemed so ill-timed,
And here I sit so patiently, as Obama rolls the dice,
he has to try to get out of going through all these things twice.

O-bama, can this really be your plan?
To be stuck inside the White House with the bailout blues again

Fine job of incorporating some of the OS in the new context.

I echo Alvin and John, I am glad that Congress approved the Big Three bailout and the financial bailout, and this parody is 5-5-5-worthy.

Thanks all; it looks like auto deal is not yet done.

Excellent job of capturing the hoplessness of the bailout(s). I liked the "again/pure spin/unwind/slime" verse best.

Thanks to John for bringing this one back; it deserves a lot more attention. Great chorus and great job all around.
