The Lyrics

Once upon a time I crossed the line
Got into fighting crime felt just fine didn't you?
collar here a collar there that's what turned me on
thought that was all I had to do
I never entertained the slightest doubt
as I headed off to stake them out
now I don't talk so loud
now I don't feel so proud
about all the lying and cheating I have to do to make it real

I know how it feels
don't you know how it feels?
to be lost and alone
no name to call your own
runnin scared your cover's blown
deep in the twilight zone

went down to Quantico to learn the tricks all right
once the system has you in its grip it doesn't take long before you're really - hooked on it
all the subterfuge and playing games
soon messes up your head and you wind up getting used to it
I said I'd never compromise
forget the means baby - its the end that justifies
just get out there and trash those alibis
but as I stare into the vacuum of my lies
I ask myself is there anything left there to reveal?

I know how it feels
don't you know how it feels?
To be lost and alone
no love to call your own
so scared your cover's blown
deep in the twilight zone

I never turned around to see the faces of the dealers and the clowns
when I made the bust
never understood that it ain't no good
its so wrong to hustle other people to break the law for us
cruised the limos with the real cool cats
gettin out of my head on their class A crack
sure hit me hard when I discovered that
it really wasn't where it's at
as I suckered them in and set them up to make the deal

chorus 1

All the pimps and hustlers in the night clubs and all the pretty people
they're drinkin' thinkin' that they've got it made
just chillin out and feelin good
never dreamin for a minute that their trust has been betrayed
I used to be so amused
at the fear in eyes and the language that they used
as I reeled them in saying 'baby you just made the 6'clock news'
I've got everythin on you - you've got everything to lose
I'm invisible now - too many secrets to conceal

How does it feel?
How does it feel?
To be on your own
with no direction home
like a complete unknown
like a rolling stone

like a rolling stone
like a rolling stone
how does it feel ?
rollin stone
how does it feel ?
how does it feel?

What's this parody called, Like A Rolling Stone or Deep in the Twilight Zone? Didn't change the words at the end otherwise ok

i think there was a cut and paste problem... martha, you might want to fix that and resubmit this

Ethan I understand from the guidelines that resubmission is not permitted.. The l;yric was originally written to be sung in a satire show, not for this website as such and I deliberately left the last chorus in cos it fitted the mood of the character and the rest of the song. But thanks for the comments
