The Lyrics

I've always had a fondness for good reggae music. I am surprised no one has used Bob Marley's jaunty little tribute to good Jamaican herb. First heard this song on Larry King's radio show in the early 1980's. Larry noticed that the title Kaya rhymed with the name of his daughter, Chaia (Hebrew for "Life"). The tune popped into my head this morning and reminded me of the Earth Goddess "Gaia" from Ancient Greece or "Captain Planet", I forget which. The Lady has been in trouble lately, what with all us humans tracking our carbon footprints all over her pristine planet. Even now, the temperature is at least 50 degrees warmer than it was just two months ago. We'd better do something about that.
Ice breaker can't get loose
Storms on the evening news
And the snow is falling

Got to save Gaia now, got to save Gaia now
Let's pray to Gaia now, for the Globe is warming

The snow so high, it reach to the sky
And it's falling again
Ran out of food in my neighborhood
'Til plow come again

Got to save Gaia now, take care of Gaia now
Must pray to Gaia now, for the Earth is warming

Gas bill so high, it climbed to the sky
Will it ever be paid?
We'll all be screwed, every neighborhood
Congress, Cap and Trade

Got to stop driving now, maybe quit breathe somehow
Pay tax to Obama now, for the Earth is warming

Delightful! Weren't Gaia (The Earth) and Uranus (The Heavens) the mother and father of the titans? At any rate...splendid, mon! ;D

DKTOS and didn't know Larry King had a radio show. Yeah, Gaia was from Captain Planet. Anyway, how could the temperature be 50 degrees warmer than it was just two months ago? Now that I'm done with the intro, on to the parody. I liked it, and thought it was well written. 5's

It was 50 degrees today in Kansas City. Two months ago, it was 0. Been happening that way for longer than I can remember. Annual global warming. Larry King had a radio show in the early 1980's. Late night. That's where I also first heard "Do They Know It's Christmas", a much better song than "We Are The World".
