The Lyrics
As most of us know Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and a good number of Democrats have signed on to the "Green New Deal" or GND. Part of the strategy is to increase high speed rail traffic and reduce if not eliminate air travel, among other things. One thing I've never heard anyone discuss is how the trains are going to _move_ because the vast majority of locomotives burn diesel fuel. Only a handful of coal-burning steam locomotives even exist anymore and the electric locomotives have to get the "juice" from power plants. Hence, a whimsical look as to what may happen to commuters on the day after the GND becomes law (gag!) and--their train doesn't go anywhere!

Waitin’ around the railroad yards, and right there is my train,
But it’s not goin’ anywhere, and no one can explain!
Oh, now I know the reason why, and it’s so clear to see:
Blame it on the Green New Deal from good old AOC!
This train needs some diesel fuel to head on down the line
But it’s not moving, “we’re so sorry, try it once again tomorrey”
Train’s still standin’ on the track, not goin’ anywhere,
Will they give my money back from all my unused fares?
Now we’ll all go and push the train so we can make it home,
Or just walk along the tracks so we’re not left alone!

Leave it to the extreme measures and lack of common sense from the GND, to provide a great Christmas gift to parody songwriters. I would definitely deem this song Karaoke bar worthy.
Let's hope some of the would-be singers copy these lyrics. Once the GND takes effect, they won't be able to see the lyrics on the machine!
