funny concept.....yeah, the man was good for laughs but it was pretty scary not to mention embarassing that he was the leader of our country

Comedians, the ultra-rich, and ultra-rightists will miss the W. The rest of us... And don't think Obama won't be funny. I've heard someone warned him that when he gets to the White House, not to walk across the pool!

Now, I won't miss "Georgie Porgie" either, and Obama might not be too funny, but it's good to have a person of color in the Oval Office for reasons of showing the general public that the Jim Crow laws and lack of civil rights of days gone by were dead wrong and ill-advised, not to mention for showing the world that we Yankees are not the bigoted, filthy-rich whiteys that some people in other countries think we are. Tommy, these 5's are for you!

Obama seems to have too much of a self-deprecatory sense of humour to be truly funny, but I reckon there'll be a different sort of laugh along the way. At least, I hope so.

I might be wrong, but I tend to agree with Joe Lieberman who predicted that Bush's ratings among historians will be greater than his ratings in contemporary polls. Well done, TT. Like everyone else, I hope that President-Elect Obama has a successful 4 (or 8) years, but I look forward to spoofing his administration, particularly the VP, in several parodies.

John Jenkins and Bush - The Worst: Time will tell. Most assessments change over time, and revisionists are still revisiting events of a century or two ago. I disagree intensely with Bush in a number of areas, particularly civil liberties, privacy, and general disregard for the Constitution, but there has been an "argumentum ad hominem" or "scapegoat" effect in which someone who does some number of bad things is then blamed unfairly for *everything* that goes wrong. For example, the housing situation and general economic situation have almost nothing to do with anything Bush did or didn't do -- I could write a book, but the seeds for both were sown in the Clinton administration. (Remember the "dot-com" boom and bust? Since Al Gore "invented" the Internet, does that make the NASDAQ collapse his fault?) And FDR raped the Constitution just as badly, though in different ways, (and the economy, unnecessarily prolonging the Depression until WWII got him and us out of it), yet he seems to be some sort of God-like hero to most people.

Miss W? You got to be kidding. Would you miss a severe case of salmanella and the Hershey drip? Granted, the economic and moral downslide was already happening before 2000 but those 8 years were horrible. I just want to see the pieces picked up, democracy strengthened up again and the Constitution to be regarded as more than a "G.D. piece of paper" as GW Bush put it.

Let's Get Out of Hell: I disagreed with many of Bush's policies, as I do of Obama's, and wrote several parodies decrying Bush. (Including on my first day here, 1/30/06. You can click the blue "Parody Written by" name at the top and browse through my catalog for other Bush parodies.)
      But the point of this parody seems to have been missed: that W's speech disorder and malapropisms were fertile ground for comedians, including parodists.
