The Lyrics

There's something happening here
And what it is is exactly clear
There's a band with a song over there
Telling creep he better beware

Artists tell Scump to stop
Now using their sounds
Many of them say
That's not allowed

The battle lines have been drawn
Using unauthorized music is wrong
Exploiting musical minds is not right
Because they do not like his vibe

Tell Dump to stop
Hey, using their sounds
The best bands say
That's not allowed

They want to see the creep beat (Ooh ooh ooh)
Would love to see him really creamed
(Ooh ooh ooh)
Dems with their songs has them feeling fine
(Ooh ooh ooh)
Are glad to help the righteous side
(Ooh ooh ooh)

Told Rump to stop
Hey, playing their sounds
Top artists say
That's not allowed

Frump's a psychotic freak
100% a creep
That's why artists want him to fade
They surely don't want any part of his parade

Tell Flump to stop
Hey, using their sounds
Best bands do say
That's not allowed

This issue was settled back in the 60s and 70s in most countries in the free world. Back then it was leftist parties that used music and right side parties that protested wildly and took it courts. All over the free world those reached pretty much the same conclusion; once artists and labels have put a song in public domain as to make money from it they no longer has any say in who gets to play it, when and where and to who.

Right side politicians were furious, but it's the only logical conclusion, just imagine to what horrible lenghts the justice system would be bogged down if artist could stop people they don't like from played by people they don't like - for political reasons, etnical, religious or whatnot.

It be like turning cancel culture up to eleven: "My name is Taylor Swift and as of right now every gym owner in the US that has liked Trumps' latest tweet are not allowed to play my songs, I've told my lawyers to sue teh s*** outta you gym daddies if they hear about anything such."

Two generations down the road it's reversed roles, the left has become the right, and the right has become the left, at least on this issue, and it's not gonna change because like I said courts worldwide have already settled this according to the only possible logical outcome unless you gonna overturn the whole biggest and most profitable entertainment model in human history. Maybe movies and teve is bigger, but the point still stands. Artists will continue for a while to rant that I'm-against-this-or-that-son-of-a-XXX basis, but it's just hot air, virtue signaling self-vaccination against cancellation - methinks they should write new songs with new lyrics bashing whatever they don't like instead, time better spent.

Well here's one case of a judge ordering 45's campaign to stop using a song: https://variety.com/2024/music/news/judge-orders-donald-trump-stop-using-hold-on-im-comin-rallies-isaac-hayes-1236129017/

Yeah, local judges often get ahead of themselves. That's why overturns in higher courts are so common in all of the FREE world.

Do you really think such take down orders would hold up if a campaign, any campaign, had the time to appeal all the way up instead of doing more important things?

Learn how reality works - artists playing the victim card to not get cancelled can clog the machine for a little while and get themselves another fifteen bonus minutes of fame in the process.

Sites like this one, yes I'm talking about AMIRIGHT, wouldn't even exist if full-of-themselves copyright owners were able to put a gun to the head of those using their songs in way the don't like.

Legalities aside, it's at least good that so many great artists and bands have stated where they stand concerning this issue.

Dee Snider of Twisted Sister tweeted this a couple of years ago: "ATTENTION QANON, MAGAT FASCISTS: Every time you sing "We're Not Gonna Take It" remember it was written by a cross-dressing, libtard, tree hugging half-Jew who HATES everything you stand for. It was you and people like you that inspired every angry word of that song! SO F OFF!"
Peter Andersson - September 28, 2024 - Report this comment
Rewriting "memory" to match your current needs are common. Dee Snider has done it before. He even told Congress that their serial killer victim song "Under The Blade" was about undergoing surgery to twist himself out of the noose during congressional hearings about lyrics grooming kids into a violent lifestyle.

Maybe you're too young to remember when Al Gore through his wife Tipper Gore tried to tie up the entire music industry and Heavy Metal in particular but but had to settle for Parental Advisory Labels through the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) organization they started to achieve that. Dee won one for freedom of speech that time, but the political compromise slung together to save Tipper Gore's face and Washington tradwife career (remember, her husband was later teleprompted to become Bill Clinton's VP) is why second generation black rap music albums have Parental Advice Stickers on them and sample allowance copyright laws were hardened to the point where at least as much money as possible would flow back to old white dudes.

US Democrats of the 80s couldn't stick it to Dee and white Heavy Metal so they transpositioned themselves and shafted black Rap Music instead. No-one has ever done more while saving their own ass to accidentally ensure that wordsmithing smart black suburban musically talented kids have the odds rigged against them to remain poor, only a few has since ever managed to get out of the plantation.

Dee Snider actually PLAYED HIMSELF in a great movie about this where you can see that everything above is true. Go watch "Warning: Parental Advisory" (www.imdb.com/title/tt0308692) about what happened back when liberalism seriously derailed and set off the start to total change of positions on freedom of speech that they have arrived at today.

From a karmic standpoint, it's definitely better to have an artist's blessing when using the music of that artist in a political campaign.
