Parody Song Title:

"Everybody Leaves Their Body"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

everybody leaves their body sometime
everybody does the trick somehow
something in your soul...controls thee
your sometime...is now

everybody finds they're floatin' someplace
what a feeling when yourself appears
something in your body's stayin'
that something's not clear

yes, it is within your power
it seems so strange...for in this world...you fear no harm
then for a minute...maybe hours
what a joy you find...there's no cause for alarm

everybody leaves their body sometime
if you haven't, you are...overdue
believe me...there's no need...in waitin'
its awesome...to do

if your soul should start to flower
you're rearranged...in a new world...and it has charm
and when you're in it...you're empowered
every one can find what i found...without harm

everybody leaves their body sometime
but be careful...don't be....overdue
or you'll find your body fadin'
its something...they do

It's not that we want to leave our bodies, but rather to enter someone else's. (Had to say it before Johnny D did.)

Hey, Lurker, if you love somebody, pull their Strunk & White out of their ass. Anyone with a prescriptivist approach to the English language is in danger of repeated coronaries if they keep hanging out on web sites devoted to SONG LYRICS. A wop bopaloolop a lop bam boom.

Yet another excellent job, alvin (our resident e. e. cummings).

I think I'm beginning to finally understand now, Lurker...the fog is lifting...and this other thing has me puzzled - can you explain to me the difference between their, there, and they're? - (they kinda sound the same and it's so confusing)

Leaving my body is not the problem, alvin...it's trying to remember where I left the darned thing later on when I want to get back in...Sh*t! It was RIGHT where I left it...under the three-day old newspaper that was also covering my car keys...Ah...I'd better give you those three "5's" now before I forget...
