Parody Song Title:

"You're a Weird One, David Lynch"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

You're a weird one, David Lynch
You make those eyeballs peel
When you made those oddball movies
At "Eraserhead" we squeal
Mr. Lynch

You're a mad director
There on every film reel

Made a monster, David Lynch
Dennis Hopper as the lead
Him suckin' down the vapor
Now a substitute for weed
Mr. Lynch

That "Blue Velvet" was a hoot
Isabella might just go bleed

You're a wild one, David Lynch
Yes, especially at heart
Laura Dern when she was teenage
What a hottie in that part
Mr. Lynch

Given the choice to view a video
I'd take a film with much less "style"

You're a strange one, David Lynch
You took old Herbert's "Dune"
Made a lengthy, sandy bore
The worm were done with good FX
But pacing was real poor

The third part was barely acted
Sang not a note: Sting, Stank, more

You're a puzzler, David Lynch
Made a gray elephant man
That was hard to understand
Hard to be a movie fan
Mr. Lynch

Your films are an appealing head trip overbearing
With the most disjointed assortment of disposable actors imaginable
Angled up and tangled up in plots

You twin peak pique me, David Lynch
With a series we go "What?"
And a crooked jerky timeline
And emotions under wrought
Mr. Lynch

You're a director that no doubt that makes no profit
And still you're sought

This was the best "Mr. Grinch" parody I've read, Rick. And I enjoyed how you covered many of his career highs and lows without stooping to disparage his talents. 555 damn fine cherry pie slices for you.

Good one, Rick 5's

The irony is, if Boris Karloff had lived, Lynch would've loved to have worked with him.

Great job here,Rick

As Agent Cooper said after his scalding spit-take in Twin Peaks, "Damn good coffee -- and hot!"

I like your parody because of your use of the original song, but I don't agree with your point of view. if you think David Lynch was wierd then see Mel Gibson's Apoclypto and Brad Pitt's Babel - pretentious.

Great job! I disagree and agree with 2Eagle - David Lynch is indeed a weird one, but yes he has a point - Apoclypto IS a very pretentious film. Ugh. But no ughs for your paordy haha! 555.

I actually like David Lynch, except for "Dune". (I made fun of that book, also) But it's more fun to mock him.

I'm with Agrimorfee on this one... but, I loved the Dune series!

I have a new home and all sorts of new things and people in my life, but it's really nice to see you guys (and Pat) commenting to me after my rather spotty presence here. Thanks.

Welcome back. "You twin pique me" - heh heh. "Sting stank" - heh heh. Word around the campfire is that "Inland Empire" is brilliantly acted - particularly by Laura Dern - but that no one, not even the actors, know WTF it's about.
Jack Wilson - December 13, 2006 - Report this comment
Word around the campfire? Now where have I heard that...
The Ghost of Gene Siskel - December 13, 2006 - Report this comment
Relax, Rick, because everyone knows that "Dune" stunk. (Siskel, appearing with Roger Ebert, actually said this to Billy Crystal as "Fernando" on "Saturday Night Live" in 1985. -- Michael)
