The Lyrics

The American Research Group now has George W. Bush's approval rating at 22 percent: http://www.americanresearchgroup.com. Time to count it down. Edwin Starr, who took the song "War" to Number 1 in 1970, died in the early days of Bush's Iraq War. It seems appropriate to use his other big hit for this one.
Twenty-five percent rating.
That Bush is hurting mighty bad.
Now he's been here for seven years and four lousy months.
You know our land's mighty mad.
But we got Obama waiting for us.
That's gonna make this trip worthwhile.
You see, he's got the kind of thinking and governing
to help each woman, man and child.

So we got to keep on walkin'.
We got to walk on.
I, I, I, I, I'm so tired
of this right-wing Dubya slide.

We got eight long months to go now
and I can hear Obama calling my name.
It's as if as though he's at the White House front door.
I can hear that doggone plain.
Now I'll be so glad to see my country
escape from this awful time.
Won't have to read his lips
or hear some dishonest quips
and we'll forget that right-wing slime.

So we got to keep on walkin'.
We got to walk on.
I, I, I, I, I'm so tired
of this right-wing Dubya slide.

Come on feet, don't fail me now.
January twenty comes soon!
We're in May!
June!
July!
August, whoa!

Thirty-six more weeks to go, now!
That's when the Bush years come to an end!
Although our feet are tired
we can't lose our stride.
Get to the voting booth, message to send!

We got to keep on walkin'.
We got to walk on.
I, I, I, I, I see the ending just across the bend!

It's too bad Joba Chamberlain hung his head when David Dellucci hit a game winning home run against him. Maybe he would have learned to show some class in victory or defeat.

Bush! What is he good for? Absolutely nothing! SAY IT AGAIN!

Since you asked, Tim... Bush! Huh! Good God, y'all! What is he good for? Absolutely NOTHING! Except maybe the periodic "Special Comments" from Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's "Countdown." He did one last night, about how Bush "sacrificed" his golf game "for the troops" and was proven to be lying even about that. I thought Keith was going cry. I really did. Now Bush has gone to Israel, and instead of praising a remarkable nation on its 60th Anniversary (May 14, 1948), he makes the "lead" of his speech before the Knesset (Israeli legislature) a swipe at Senator Obama, who promises a change in how our government would relate to the world, and he -- the appeaser of the royal family of terrorist nation Saudi Arabia -- calls Obama's policy "appeasement." Next, he's going to say Hank Steinbrenner doesn't know how to run a baseball team. (That might turn out to be true, but the Texas Rangers never reached the postseason until after Bush sold them.)

You use a good ol' late 60s soul song AND you're supporting Barack Obama? I think I"M in love! 5-5-5, even though a little of the pacing was rough here and there.

It seems like every time I take a little hiatus, Mr. Pacholek, I come back to find another new woman flocking around you. You're such a lady killer...; )

Hmm...should I consider that a warning? Suddenly "He's a Tramp" and "Mambo No. 5" are playing in my mind. Don't take that personally, Michael; you still look good on "paper"!

Oh neither song applies to Mister Pacholek, Melanie...don't worry. Love on...
