Original Song Title:

"Suspicious Minds"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Elvis Presley

Parody Song Title:

"Suspicious Fines"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

Elvis was from Memphis, Tennessee, which was, and remains, St. Louis Cardinals territory. He grew up listening to Harry Caray's broadcasts on KMOX. Yes, Cub fans, Harry broadcast for the hated Cards once.
You called it a strike.
That pitch was out.
You are a lousy umpire, baby.

Why can't you see?
It wasn't strike number three.
And I don't believe a word you say.

We can't accept, Commissioner
these suspicious fines.
(Suspicious fines!)
We've got to argue calls.
No suspcious fines!

So if a call he did blow
obvious to last row
would I still see decisions that are lies?

Here we go again:
Outside, pitch has been.
You can't see the tears I feel I'm crying!
(Tears I'm crying!)

We can't accept, Commissioner
these suspicious fines.
(Suspicious fines!)
We've got to argue calls.
No suspcious fines!

Won't let at-bat survive!
Oh, no!
No, we're down six to five!
Let's don't let a
rally die!
Oh, no!
No, ump, you'd
never
never
lie to me?
You just did!
Yeah, yeah!

You called it a strike.
That pitch was out.
You are a lousy umpire, baby.

Why can't you see?
It wasn't strike number three.
And I don't believe a word you say.

Oh, don't you know...
You called it a strike.
That pitch was out.
You are a lousy umpire, baby.

Oh, don't you know...
You called it a strike.
That pitch was out.
You are a lousy umpire, baby.

Oh, don't you know...
You called it a strike.
That pitch was out.
You are a lousy umpire, baby.

Oh, don't you know...
(repeat 'til fade)

Good job Michael. I thought this was a parody about cricket, but then realised that both you and Max Power are basefall fans.

Nice one! Although I thought this was going to be about getting caught "speeding" at 26MPH on Woodbridge Ave...

Certainly not, Mason... Though you're only off by one block. I once got a ticket for going 40 in a 35 zone on Route 27 in Highland Park.

Sir Michael, you should seriously consider being a Aports Announcer! We need a new one here in the SFO area! I still miss the great Lon Simmons!
