The Lyrics
Charlie Chan was my favorite detective from the time I was kid. I've read the books but, for sheer entertainment, nothing can compare to the films starring Warner Oland and Sidney Toler in the thirties and forties, especially before the series was discontinued by 20th Century Fox and bought by Monogram. So, here's my little tribute to Charlie and, especially, number one and two sons Lee and Jimmy.

Ways are slow, thoughts defective
Somehow stumbling on man

Memory short and wisdom lack

Forsby - I haven't thought about Charlie Chan since ah since ah probably the last time I thought of him. You really pulled a dusty one out of the archive in my mind. But as I remember those old flicks the parody seems to be relatively accurate through the cobwebs in my memory. He liked that word honorable and was full of Confucious type sayings. Thanks for the ride back in time.

You're welcome Guy. I always feel good when I can help someone bring back a few good memories. As for me, I know those old Charlie Chan movies backwards and forwards. Btw, that quote was taken from a quip by Number Two Son Jimmy. His exact quote was, "Man who sits on tack better off." As Charlie once said, "Man without relatives is man without problems." :-D
