I wrote a love note with my ink plume*
And stamped it upside down
Doused with her favorite perfume
To smell when I’m not ‘round

I wrote upon it:
Return to letters, emails get old
Words to treasure, thoughts to hold
Lay off your keyboard, don’t touch your mouse
Why post on FaceBook, when a letter gets me more roused

So then I slipped it through the mail thing
Real slow and gingerly
Three days later my phone rings
And guess who could it be?

She sounded excited:
I loved your letter, sprayed with cologne!
God, that fragrance, made me moan!

It’s time we started writing more folks
With pens, pencils, and crayons
Mark that paper with your signature strokes
They might understand- the scribbling on it

Return to letters, ads make me groan
Too much Twitter, Too much phone
