The Lyrics

This is a tribute to all the amiright posters who submit their songs for us to enjoy. My friend Tommy Turtle chides me for counting my songs (and justifyably so) but I do watch my newbie butt (serious since June 2009) rise on the roster. I have passed contributors whose luggage I don't deserve to carry! ;D

(Thinkin' - Drinkin' - Stinkin')
(Writin' - Bitin' - Slightin')
(Postin' - Roastin' - Toastin')
(Readin' - Bleedin' - Needin')

Keep sassin', sassin', sassin',
Write songs that are gassin'.
Soon you will be passin'
Milestones.
If you can keep a smile up
Your parodies will pile up,
And you'll delight our funny bones.
Cheers to us on this site,
To Chucky and amiright.
We're more than just bad Weird Al clones.

Think it up! Write it out!
Send it in! Do not pout!
Read 'em out! Count 'em up!
Milestones!
You've done twelve? Eighty-six?
Three oh five? Darn good tricks!
Soon you will have a grand or more!
Milestones!

J.A.B showed us the ways
And in just a few days
He'll have more than three Ks
Milestones!
A.F. Won and T.S.B.
By next year will have surely
Each a two thousand - hold the phone!
Guy and Phil in order
Are closing on the border.
They'll soon have a grand of their own!

As for me - let me see -
I've just got - two fifty,
But next year - I'm in gear
Milestones.
Got a goal - write some more -
By next year - twenty score!
Write 'em down - I'll pass more
Milestones!

(Thinkin' - Drinkin' - Stinkin')
(Writin' - Bitin' - Slightin')
(Postin' - Roastin' - Toastin')
(Readin' - Bleedin' - Needin')

Milestones!

I am older than my friend Pacholek and I smoke over two packs a day! If I make the 1,000 club, please call the Vatican (our first contact since Martin Luther). It would be a certifiable miracle! ;D

Nice tribute, but TT's right, it's not about the numbers, and if you let it be one day you'll look back realising your total salary for your songs (if any at all) devided by the number of hours you put in writing them makes a normal minimum wage looks like the total fortune of Fort Knox...

Reads well...good rhythm...but you gotta' get "On top of that old smoky" habit....

Yep, I'm almost there. Then a much needed parody vacation. Thanks for the nod!
