In 1999 I appeared in a UK TV programme called "Countdown", and did rather well! Consequently I wrote a one-act pantomime that included several parodies; this is one of them where a guest on the panel is having a dig at the host.

Whenever I appear with you I really don’t know what to do,
I’ve lost it for sure.
The audience once thought of me as someone with a pedigree,
But now I’m a bore!
I try to be so charming and I think it’s quite alarming how the times have changed.
For now I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I loathe you!
I can see it in your eyes that you despise the same old jokes you’ve heard me tell before.
And though they’re bad I think it’s sad that you appear so glad there won’t be any more.
I know that some are rotten but I think that you’ve forgotten I was there at the start.
And since its launch in eighty-two the show has seen a thing or two, it’s something apart.
I used to love my sweaters but your suits were always better, how I envied you.
So now I’m going to spoil it all by saying something stupid like I loathe you!

I appeared on "The Morton Downey Show" in 1989, where I stood up to some of his rude questions. He was cancelled a couple months later. I like to think I had something to do with it.
