Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Rip One In My Sleep"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

Mrs. Dee Range is unhappy because her man snores? Count your blessings, Lady! ... More relationship advice to the male half: Learn from my mistake. OS lyrics here. Midi here.
Rip one in my sleep
My girlfriend glances
Hears a little "threep"
She takes no chances
Shoves a tampon deep
Inside my butt, or two

Something that I ate
Three bean burritos
Nachos, giant plate
Hot sauce and Fritos
Later generate
Such awful, offal stew

Rip one in the night
Now, lonely sleeper am I
Rip one in the night
Abruptly wake up
As she kicks me out the door
On the couch I'll snore
Gas: my romance tossed away
Need nooky? No chance! Lost a lay

And...

Ever since that night
On couch I'm lying
Ev'ry single bite
I vouch decrying
Gastro-infest plight
For ripping in the night

(Instrumental; sounds like a salsaphone) [1]

Love? I threw my chance away
By passing gas in pants all day

Ever since that night
Alone I'm sleeping
Girlfriend fled in fright
And wife is weeping
Threesome not delight:
My ripping in the night!

Doobie, would he do?
Hide-a in pita
Booty, moody, do?
Oh yes, indeed-a
Shooed the smell of poo
By burning weed-a
Back again, the two
Gadda-da-vida....

[1] "salsaphone": a Sousaphone played by one who has eaten too much salsa.

They were incensed until they sensed incense. Always knew that that aroma was good for something. "Fritos" ® Frito-Lay, Inc., but remember: eat Frito? Lay, not. All else © 2006 Tommy Turtle.

555, hilarious. I seen the posts on my "Been A Son" parody yesterday, here are the URLs of image from that anime: 3w.animeboredom.co.uk/Uploads/Areview/24721103245670.jpg Dejiko(left), Puchiko(right) and Gema(above) 3w.animeboredom.co.uk/Uploads/Areview/24731103245670.jpg From left to right: Mee-K, Dejiko, Puchiko, Gema(Yellow ball) and Rinna.

Great wordplay and gags throughout....especially liked 'awful offal stew' and the tampon in the butt lines. Smells like 555 to me.

Ripping good - 555. Have you heard the Crepitation Contest by any chance? FYI: The song "If You Go Away" was composed by Jaques Brel and Rod McCuen and was sung by Dusty Springfield. She always chose to record all the co-dependent songs - we could devote a whole forum to that subject - so she is the Co-Dependent Queen. I know that particular song because everywhere I would go somebody was playing an easy listening muzak station and I would always hear "If You Go Away" being sung by the Johnny Mann Singers, I think. Anyway, I think I can come up with half a dozen parodies to that.

You get fives just for "salsaphone"

Perfect timing (I checked... but then you know how much that's worth!) I loved the awful/offal play and accompanying edifying links...someone, I forget now, referred to you as quadrapedantic! I'm not sure how true that is but from what I've seen, having been here for two weeks now, I can only imagine he meant it in the best possible light...(octa or nonapedantic, of course would imply sheer mockery!) Your parsing of who/whom last night, too, was refreshing... Someone who actually knows WTF he's talking about, is of Sonny disposition and isn't afraid to Cher... no mediocrity in you, me thinks

LOL comments, everybody!!! :)
John Barry, good one!
Stephen Harrington, thanks, will go back there later tonight.
Dee Range, thanks, glad you liked that smell :)
AFW, thanks lol
alvin rhodes (lol), thanks; yeah, that might chase away the ladies ;-)
2Eagle, thanks; not familiar with that contest .... will check back at your song in a bit
PMS, thanks ... :)
TJC, thanks... I referred to myself as that in the "Who/Whom" discussion you cited, from when Red Ant and Stuart McArthur were discussing my tendencies in a thread at Stuart's wonderfully Turtle-spearing "My Name Is Tommy...(Turtle)" http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/suzannevega22.shtml. I consider both of them to be my tightest buds, one indicator being that we aren't afraid to kick each other when indicated, nor to rib each other mercilessly whether indicated or not... Your taking my s**t so graciously makes you a member of that club also, and you clearly have a great future at AmIRight, but... Know that it's like an alcoholic taking the first drink, or your first snort of blow, or first shot of heroin... Do you really want to go down this highly addictive and time-sucking path? ;-} heh heh

TT, your last comment caught my eye. Great parody, though in all honesty I'm a bit let down you didn't include "Dutch Oven" in here somewhere. I hear that giving one is legitimate grounds for your spouse to file for divorce. So anyway, back to your comment: Writing parodies is a hell of a lot better than anything you mentioned, and arguably more addictive. I can go a day without writing, really, I can. ;-) That said, I'm going to get some sleep now - before I do, let me rip you some 5s.

Larry Hensley, thanks.
Red Ant, thanks.... I DK "Dutch Oven", though the term conjures up some images (ripping one under the blankets?).... Explain, please, and I'll include it in the next profane methane quatrain.
I can't. No denial there.
Red Ant - May 01, 2006 - Report this comment
A Dutch Oven is indeed ripping one under the blankets, but it is much more malicious than that. It is the deliberate and premeditated act of doing so and then pulling the blanket over a loved ones head. Like I said, probably grounds for divorce.

Red Ant, thanks - I'll remeber that if I ever want to break up and don't have the guts to say so heh heh
