The Lyrics

It's a sorrowful day in this neighborhood,
We're sorry that we lost our neighbor.
Wasn't he fine,
That friend of mine?

It's a sorrowful day for our lost childhood,
A sorrowful day to remember.
Wasn't he fine,
That friend of mine?

I have fond memories of the hours spent with him.
I'll always remember visiting his neighborhood with him.

So, let's make the most of this sorrowful day.
Just to remember, we might as well say:
Wasn't he fine,
That friend of mine?
Yes, he was my neighbor.
Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Remember Fred, my neighbor?

I guess this really isn't a funny parody, but I think it's an appropriate tribute. I'll miss Mr. Rogers.

when it comes to parodies like this i usually change the meaning of how funny to how moving, and i being a neighbor myself will miss Mr. Fred Rogers deeply. This is a very moving parody peace.

even though he was made fun of along with every celebrity, i believe he was the only one who we couldn't pin anything bad on. truely a good neighbor i'm sure, and also enriched the lifes of children. *i was a devoted Mr. Rogers watcher!* RIP Fred Rodgers. I hope to see you in heaven. he wouldn't belong anywhere else. --xtc--

I was a devoted Fred Rogers Fan, too, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. He was a truly great man. Thanks for the tribute.
