Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

DON’T FLATTER YOURSELF

Don’t flatter yourself, you’re poor!
Don’t flatter yourself; you are no use to me.
No matter how hard you try,
I feel we’ll never see eye to eye.
Don’t flatter yourself, go home.
Don’t flatter yourself, you can do nothing here.
The team doesn’t need your kind;
So mind, wherever you go you’ll find…

That there’s no chance you’ll see somebody who likes you now,
And no matter how you try.
Never a hope in Hell, I can tell, to make the grade,
And you’ll end up high and dry!
Don’t flatter yourself, give in.
There’s nothing for us to like.
So please believe me, get the message, take my word,
Don’t flatter yourself. On your bike!

Don’t flatter yourself,
I’m poor?
Don’t flatter yourself;
I am no use to you?
No matter how hard
I try?
I feel we’ll
Never see eye to eye?
Don’t flatter yourself,
Go home?
Don’t flatter yourself,
I can do nothing here?
The team doesn’t need
My kind?
So mind, wherever you go you’ll find…

If you take my advice, you’d be wise to start anew;
Something new to do, and now.
If you can find someone mad enough to take you on,
Then perhaps he’ll show you how.
Don’t flatter yourself, give in.
There’s nothing for us to like.
So please believe me, get the message, take my word,
Don’t flatter yourself. On your bike!

Didn't notice this when it came in - another very good idea, well-executed. Might have had a bit more interest if you'd not gone for the simple repetition that the original goes in for (yes, I know that's holding you as a parodist to higher standards than the original songwriters, but that's kind of what we do round here :-) )
