WE'LL BE THERE WITH YOU THIS CHRISTMAS

It wasn't much fun last Christmas,
With being back here alone.
Stuck inside as the snow was falling,
We had to manage here on our own.
Not quite the same that Christmas morning,
No early start and no sign of noise.
With the children away there was no-one to play,
We were missing their playing with toys.

This year it will be quite different,
This year we won't be alone.
We won't care if the snow is falling,
No need to manage here on our own.
For we'll be there with you this Christmas,
We hope to be there at around midday.
And as soon as we come you can roll out the drum,
Both the children and grownups can play.

We're glad we'll be there this Christmas,
And hopefully New Year too.
We'll be happy to bring the dinner,
Just as long as it's cooked by you.
How we will love to be together,
Seeing you all and to hear your voice.
We can banish the past and look forward at last
To a time when we all can rejoice.
