The Lyrics

Now, we're sure: sparks, ignite
This is it for AmIRight
No more e-mailing, "pass/failing" each line
We've nailed ev'ry line just fine
We'll ensure your delight
This is it, from two minds, bright
In truth, we must admit
Times, now and then, thought we'd quit
TT would pick a nit;
Fid-dlegirl said we should split

Proofread much; got it right
Past, our plight: incite spite; fight
No more reversing, and cursing sweet-hearts
Respect, now, each others's smarts
TT: spit at Brad Pitt [1]
Fiddlegirl: much better fit
And oh, what write we've writ
See what the sages submit
Wed-nesday: please, time, commit
Watch as we "wow" you with wit!

Like, love, and laugh, luck permit!

[1] TT and Brat PiTT (naturally, with a name like that) both made their major film debuts in the same Oscar-winning movie. TT got neither an Oscar, Jennifer Aniston, nor Angelina Jolie, as for some unfathomable reason, it seemed that people, especially female people, would rather look at B. Pitt than at a turtle. Go figure ...

TT took the hint, left the movie business sometime thereafter, and ended up writing song parodies with Fiddlegirl, which is soooo much better! :D But you can still hear his voice in two lines of the movie, and it's part of every background or crowd scene... and the residual checks from MGM/United Artists still roll in like clockwork every three months, twenty years later.

I can visualize the Looney Tunes charcters singing this one, along a Turtle in there dancing with a hat and cane and a Fiddlegirl dancing and palying the fiddle. We're ready for the show. Nicely done and great choice for the opening intro.

Thee-a thee-a thee-a that's all folks -'til tomorrow. And you are butt busting again in your footnotes, TT, no?
blackjack21 - September 29, 2009 - Report this comment
So, like, how much time should I block out for this blockbuster tomorrow? Should I take the day off work? ;-D

Are you kidding? We love it when you two make overtures towards us!
Can hardly wait to "watch you paste us pathetic palookas with a powerful, pachydermous, percussion pitch" on the morrow!

Timmy1000: That *is* an amusing image! Too bad no video... thanks for v/c!

Guy: Thanks for comment. If you are asking me whether I was lying in the footnotes, the answer is no. Why would I? .... Click the author name to get to my song page. "Professional actor" is among the things listed in the bio, where anyone can read it, as it has been all along.

blackjack21: I speed-read, so take about 20 seconds for most songs. :-) Guess it depends on how many times you want to re-read, savoring the subtleties..... looking at how few songs were posted today, if it's like that tomorrow, there should be plenty of time. No, tomorrow's posting won't be terribly lengthier than most. Thanks for v/c. ... and who says you can't take the day off anyway? ;-)

TJC: FG will love that comment! ... this is the only overture, though. Thanks for v/c!

TT, I have a profile on InThe00s now... maybe after a few more FG collaborations, you could do one with me? I'm already doing one with Dave right now. BTW, great parody. 555

'TT would pick a nit'. You'd better act quickly if you've got an infestation. Good job you finished your epic in time - as soon as they hatch you'll become lousy.

Speed-reading? Hhmmm ... Now if you can "speed-read the "funny papers" that's really something! 555

Who needs Brad Pitt? Pffft, I say! :D

LOL @ Timmy's comment! I was not present at AIR yesterday because I was sick with a cold and had to stay in bed the whole day. Well, enough of my ailment. Anyways, I should be well enough to see yours and Fiddlegirl's big debut tomorrow! Can't hardly wait! Countdown to yours and Fiddlegirl's big debut/big project...starting at 555! BTW, I could care less about Brad Pitt!

DJ Blaze: Appreciate the gracious offer, but I'm not sure that you want to tangle with FG. Beneath that charming exterior, there's a tigress who would be *very* unhappy about sharing her partner with anyone! You've been warned ;) ;) Thanks for v/c!

Andy Primus: What a crabby comment! (hahahahahahahah!) ...thanks anyway - I owe ya one, pal! (j/k! thanks for funny v/c!)

metaphorsbwithu: Unless you're talking about the funny papers that come in a package with that weird-looking guy on the cover, sure, why not speed-read comics? Thanks for the vote, and for the comment that took less than a second to read. :-D

Fiddlegirl: Yay! *That's* my girl! ... and that's *why* that's my girl! Muah! :D

Christie Marie M: Sorry to hear of your illness, and glad you're better. No puter at home? .. Guess that's why I've always had laptops, so you can use them even if in bed :) Looking forward to seeing you there -- and I don't mind that you care for Brad Pitt.

(Swiftly stepping into a nearby phone booth and changing into his alter-super-ego-tist, pointing out that the correct expression is "I couldn't care less", i. e. "I care zero. You can't care less than that". To say that you *could* care less means that you do care some amount -- but don't feel bad, a lot of people say that.) TT is just being TT again -- good practice for his big debut tomorrow! Thanks for v/c!

Can't wait to see your parody with Dave. I'm sure that there are any number of talented writers on the site who would be happy to co-write with you. But I'm afraid TT is *my* partner, for letter or for verse.

There are any number of factors that go into a successful partnership, one of which is a shared musical "literacy", if you will... or a similar frame of reference for songs. You might find it more gratifying to write with someone who is familiar with the bands and songs that you listen to, as well as the subjects about which you prefer to write. [That's a nice way of saying that TT and I are of a more-or-less similar generation, which came somewhat before yours.] Best of luck in finding that co-writership! ;)

FG and DJ: Aside from the tigress factor, FG brings up a very valid point that I'd missed (see why it's a good mesh?): I just took a look at your (DJ's) author page, and without even looking at the song titles, I'd never even heard of about 80-90% of the bands. So I'm afraid we'd be pretty much limited to The Beatles. ;)

FG: Astute analysis as always, a-literate and accurate. ;) I too am looking forward to the BAD-Blaze flames of fire from forming fraternity, through fear I'll DKTOS. ;)

And I love how you read poetry to me after our matings. We go from bed to verse.

TT: Come on, don't Dragonforce, Lordi, and Iceman mean anything to you? What about Breakerz? LOL just kidding.
FG: Alright, he's yours.... for now! Just kidding. If he's your partner, I won't interfere. I PMed Dave asking what OS we should do. That's as far as we've gotten.

DJ Blaze: Nope. :)
