"Sing of Tyler"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

My name is Michael Pacholek. I was on a website, and I wrote a parody of a song from 1963. I don't know how or why I got here, but ever since I arrived, it feels like I'm on a different planet. Maybe if I can get fives on this parody, I can find my way home.
(a 1973-style glam-rock guitar replaces the original's mariachi horns)

I tell you now a story, sing of Tyler.
Went back, back, back
on this TV-show compiler.
Questions burn, burn, burn.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.

Love... for his partner cop.
Killers... he must stop.
Hit... by the present's car.
Into the past he went, not far.

I tell you now a story, sing of Tyler.
Went back, back, back
on this TV-show compiler.
Questions burn, burn, burn.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.

In nine...teen seventy-three.
"I'm so... confused," says he.
Meets mom... and himself as child.
Finds out... his dad was wild.

I tell you now a story, sing of Tyler.
Went back, back, back
on this TV-show compiler.
Questions burn, burn, burn.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.

The cops... of this former time
they're nuts... but they solve crimes.
Sam... loves Annie though
it's home... he wants to go.

I tell you now a story, sing of Tyler.
Went back, back, back
on this TV-show compiler.
Questions burn, burn, burn.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.

Yes, I tell you now a story, sing of Tyler.
Went back, back, back
on this TV-show compiler.
Questions burn, burn, burn.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.

Questions burn, burn, burn.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.
I sing of Tyler.

(instrumental close)
I thought it needed a third verse. This will probably be posted on April 1, 2009, within hours of the final episode's airing... And that bothers me that this "What's really going on here?" show is closing on April Fools' Day.

Others might not appreciate Life on Mars, but I sure did! Good work, Michael. I can only hope you watch the show that preceded it on ABC, as Jordan & I are working on a killer parody that will span the first 5 seasons of Lost.
