"Ring of Fire"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Johnny Cash

Parody Song Title:

"Jam Filled Donuts"

Parody Written by:

David Calleja

The Lyrics

Sweets are the greatest thing
Donuts shine like diamonds rings
I yearn for sugar ablaze
Jam-filled, a chef's hand grenade

I fell in to a jam-filled box of donuts
All the dough, dough, dough
Had an orgy in my guts
And it's sweet, sweet, sweet
Box of jam-filled donuts
Jam-filled donuts

I love chocolate-iced desserts
Nothing's like a hot jam burst
Caress a dozen every day
Microwaved or baker's tray

I fell in to a jam-filled box of donuts
All the dough, dough, dough
Had an orgy in my guts
And it's sweet, sweet, sweet
Box of jam-filled donuts
Jam-filled donuts

Not bad. It's no Dunkin' Donuts, maybe not even a Tim Horton's, but it's at least a Krispy Kreme. I guess the problem was I tried to hear the song in my head, and I couldn't imagine Johnny Cash singing the word "donuts." But that's my problem, not yours. It was a good idea. Keep trying.

The pacing seems off. Maybe it is the extra word/s that you have. It is funny so you deserve my 3/4/4

Michael, I would not mind having Krispy Kremes in Australia. And yes, Imagining Johnny Cash saying donuts is a strange thing. Norman, I agree about the pacing too. I should have thought more after originally writing this. Instead of saying "And it's sweet, sweet, sweet" in the chorus, perhaps "Flavours burst, burst, burst...jam-filled donuts" may have been better. Still, I'll learn from this. Thanks for the good feedback. It's appreciated.

I had a problem with the pacing, but as Homer Simpson would say, "Mmmmmmmmmm, aaaaaahhhhhh!
