I usually don't write topical parodies, especially Sports themes, but this is the exception to the rule. Written in salute to the 1985-1986 Chicago Bears (Bear Down, Chicago Bears!!!), and their championship season culminating in the championship at Superbowl XX. Too bad the team sucks nowadays (at least as of this writing).

In 1986, the Bears took trip
Along with Coach Ditka down the Mighty Mississip'
They took an accupuncturist and their own blue jeans
And fought New England's Patriots way down in New Orleans

(Chorus)They tried to pass the ball, but the Bears wouldn't let 'em
The team looked bigger as they kept scorin'
Richard Dent ran so fast, the defense couldn't catch him
The Pats packed their bags and went back to Boston

McMahon and Payton and Perry played it good
New England making touchdowns? They never could
Those underdogs were such sorry guys
You could see all the tears well up in their eyes(Chorus)

Coach Ditka said, "We can take 'em by surprise
If we send the Fridge out with you other guys
The QB made the call, and Perry made the hit
McMahon made a touchdown, we're talking hot Shhhuffl-ing here

My kind of town, Chicago is, but my kind of song, this song is not. Still, I never saw a better football player than Walter Payton.

Well, for once I agree with Michael completely about something--Sweetness was the best ever. And that season was the most fun I've had watching sports ever. But wasn't Richard Dent a linebacker? Anyway, well done; some nice details.

Dent was a lineman. An aptly-named one, at that. Of course New England lost that Super Bowl! They were facing a guy named Dent! (I'm gonna catch some static for that one, but I don't care!)

Agrimorfee, your last line said it all. The Bears did not become a dynasty; they had one great year and they were done.
MP, it took me five months to find it; but, yes, you deserve some static for injecting a reference to Bucky Dent into a parody that has nothing to do with baseball or New York.

Well, the joke was that there's a guy on this site who roots for the Red Sox and calls himself Static. By the way, have the papers for Aaron Boone's new middle name been processed yet, so he can join Bucky F---ing Dent?

Where can you hear this, I cannot find it anywhere. I remember hearing it and told my kids about it but can't find anywhere to play it for them
