The Lyrics

You paid for it twice
Cause they marked it up a lot
All that Christmas crap, that you think
That to have you ought
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've bought till it's home?
You paid for it twice
Cause they marked it up a lot

You brought home a tree
Cause the kids like to see the lights
And one little short circuit
It turns into lit dynamite
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've bought till it's home?
You paid for it twice
Cause they marked it up a lot

Hey, Santa, Santa
Put away that J&B, now
Your breath don't smell like Snapple
Not puttin' my kid on your knees
Jeeze!
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've caught till it's home?
You paid for it twice
Cause they marked it up a lot

Every night
The songs that make me scream
And the big yellow snowjob
Took away all my green
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've fought till it wins?
You paid for it twice
Cause they marked it up a lot

The "fought til it wins" stanza was a little odd compared to the rest of them, but still a funny twist of BYT just in time for the season.

"Big Yellow Snowjob"... for a moment there, I thought this was gonna be about not a tree, but a Bush. Oh well, it's almost Christmas season, I'll be charitable. Five.

a couple of the lines are real tongue-twisters to get out on pace, but it can be done...(I'm sending YOU my Medical Bills to have my tongue re-set...lol)...5's, & belated congrats on surpassing 900 posts...OH...caught your "Spoonful o' Lovin" piece over on the "Dark Side"...got an extra kick out of imagining Julie Andrews laying those lines out...lol...

Everywhere I go, the prices are marked down, not up. Well, you'll just have to take your business elsewhere; maybe move out of that metropolitan hell-hole you must be in.
