Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"A Few of My Pettiest Peeves"

Parody Written by:

Leo Keough

The Lyrics

Earrings on noses and friskers at check-in
Rash-causing nettles and women henpeckin'
Newpapers soaked in their clear plastic sleeves
These are a few of my pettiest peeves

Discolored panties and critical whiners
Cell phones and pagers in airplanes and diners
Waking to noise from machines blowing leaves
These are a few of my pettiest peeves

Churlish tight lushes and BYO bashes
Fruitcakes at Christmas and camera flashes
Dinner time phone calls from marketing thieves
These are a few of my pettiest peeves

When the sun shines
When the breeze cools
When I'm feeling glee
I simply remember my pettiest peeves
And then I don't feel so free

Pantries with rodents and whiskey-voiced matrons
Eavesdropping neighbors and unruly patrons
Raw paper cuts that no lotion relieves
These are a few of my pettiest peeves

Self-centered phonies and Rorschach test doodles
Doormen and greeters and snippy white poodles
Water that spills from my overstuffed eaves
These are a few of my pettiest peeves

Speedbumps on roadways and semi trucks splashing
Slow driving seniors with signals left flashing
Silver-tongued devils that no one believes
These are a few of my pettiest peeves

When the sun shines
When the breeze cools
When I'm feeling glee
I simply remember my pettiest peeves
And then I don't feel so free

Nothing petty about this parody...you've listed some classic gems that most of the general "Pop" can relate to.

Love the "pettiest peeves" line an in title. I agree with this list of peeves; could probably be more but the OS only has so many verses.

So funny.

I echo everyone's comments. Those are very common pet peeves in life. Very clever antonym structure on the song title. 5's.

I echo all of the above comments, and I concur with Christie Marie about the antonym structuring with the title and the commonness of the peeves in the lyrics. Personally, my pet peeves include pushiness, persuasion, immaturity, hyperactivity, people who don't speak English, Republicans, treehuggers, organized labor, and fundamentalism. 5s.

Thanks all...If anybody else wants to suggest some other peeves, maybe I'll do a sequel (These Are Some More of our Pettiest Peeves). No promises, though - it's really tough to come up with lines that end with good rhymes to 'peeves'.
