Parody Song Title:

"A Slew Of The Fake Names I've Seen"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Sadly, I only had to go back one week to assemble enough fake names to complete this song.
"Jinx", "Hep A. Titus", and "Me not so horny"
"Third Party War Lover", "Marion Barry"
"Duh", "Loyle Hairston" and "Thrown IEDs?"
These are a slew of the fake names I've seen

"Moon Glow", "Doggone It" and "Francis X. Bushman"
"Prankenstein", "Sun God" and "Patrick H. Muldoon"
"70s Hellion" and "Miss Liberty"
These are a slew of the fake names I've seen

"Yuck", "Lawn & Order" and "Still Pissed" and "Bond Fan"
"Viva La France", "What?", "Anon", "Moe" and "Bird Man"
I'm so confused and I'm ready to scream
These are a slew of the fake names I've seen

All these lurkers
Such a sad shame
No one seems enthralled
So many pretenders with fake names on screen
And none of them real at all

At-sign with "War Loser", and "Anti-warrior"
"NBA Fan", "PC Gal", "Commentator"
"Vet, War and Blog" and some question marks: three
These are a slew of the fake names I've seen

At-sign with "Foul Sniveler", "Ho-hum", "Commander"
"German Girls Rule" and "Triste-an und Ich soldier?"
"Pierre", "Politico", "Yummy" times three
These are a slew of the fake names I've seen

"Citizen Jayne", and "Confused" and "to Duh...mmy"
At-sign with "Anon" and "NAACP"
So many posting anonymously
These are a slew of the fake names I've seen

All these lurkers
Such a sad shame
No one seems enthralled
So many pretenders with fake names on screen
And none of them real at all

Whatever happened to the old timers? I sure miss them. Looks like Muldoon's comments on Rob Arndt's tank story got deleted. A nice parody on a not-so-nice phenomenon affecting our site.

Thanks! Phred, I went and read your five parodies and gave them all 5s. You should post more!

I wholeheartedly agree with you sentiments. I thought I'd post under a pseudonym because it seems to be the norm nowadays but *you* know who I am.

Thanks, Norman Z! Funny that you said it seems to be the "norm" nowadays!

I have posted, many times. Phred is my pseudonym. See if you can guess my real name.

Phred, I have an idea who you might be, but I need more data to be sure. Have you posted any parodies with your real name since the first one you posted as Phred? Also, because of my love for the syllable-matching process, I'm about to spend (waste?) some time trying to figure out the deeper meaning of your "Fights Win Knight Patton" challenge. Before I do, could you tell me whether or not it's something more than just some arbitrary rhyming subs?

Phred, ignore the requests in the above comment. I'm ready to guess now. And since you're being so tricky about this, I'll do it in a way that's not likely to reveal your true identity to anyone else that reads this comment: Your very first AIR parody using your real name has a comment that syllable matches with "Worst fine wood need varnish alight." Am I right?

I had some reason for using the pseudonym. I may even have revealed it at one time, but there are so many new folks here now, I doubt they would recognize it or care. There are some clues, but so far, no one has told me if they figured it out. "Fights Win Knights Patton" is mostly arbitrary, sort of a protest against new (and old) music that makes no sense to me. Also, I never really liked "Nights In White Satin", which, though it describes sensuous love making, sounds to me like a funeral dirge. "Your Wildest Dreams", which is about a lost love, sounds far more upbeat. But that's the way music works. "A Fright Is What It Seems To Be Hung".

Phred, I take it that "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" is your sly way of saying I successfully figured out your real name. How about "The Site Is Such, Jim Beam To Be Drunk"?

BTW, while messing around with "Nights In White Satin", I came up with an idea to add even more difficulty to the syllable-matching process. See if you can figure out what feature I added in these subs:

Whites in sight nappin'
Ever needing to rend
Wreckers' lives itchin'
Severed Eden to mend

Moody wide all-age bit
Fit eased thighs we'd borne
Trust up the juice whiz
My Aunt Kay ethic sore
Leough - May 28, 2014 - Report this comment
Correction: Fourth line of subs should be "Severed needling to mend"

When rising to a challenge, Jim Beam works better for some than Viagra. When I read the first verse I picture some drunken Klansmen with tattered robes, passed out under a lynching tree, while the "skeeters" nibble on them.
