Original Song Title:

"My Favourite Things"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Julie Andrews

Parody Song Title:

"Rediculous Films"

Parody Written by:

Adam Eccleshall

The Lyrics

Batman Forever and Batman & Robin
What was Joel thinking? These movies be stinkin'
Kill Bill, Avengers and Mission to Mars
(That was a most diabolical farce)

Star Trek the Fifth, when for God they went hunting
Shattner was writing, directing and starring
Project of Blair Witch was pointless and grim
These are the world's most rediculous films

Hulk was long winded and boredom inducing
Ang Lee should stick with his old Tigers Crouching
Runaway Bride, of a plot was devoid
That was a waste of some good celluloid

When these movies, are shown to me
Makes me feel so sad
I just have to think about Superman Three
And these do not seem so bad

It's a nice idea, Adam, but could have done with some more rhymes

What Phil said: A good and rather funny idea, but a few too many shortcuts in the rhyming department. Hence 444.
Adam Eccleshall - July 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Yeah, I know. Far too much inging in that. Unfortaunately, my imagination left me half way through writing it and didn't leave a forwarding address :-/
Michael Pacholek - July 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Sounds to me like your imagination was the equal of said films' scriptwriters. This time. Hopefully not next time.

Spend more time on the rhyme scheem. More time trying to parody the entire song wouldn't hurt either. Otherwise I thought it was cleaver.

As in the Beaver? Cleaver?
Adam Eccleshall - July 27, 2004 - Report this comment
G30RG3: I don't understand your "cleaver" comment. The original song is only 3 verses, which are repeated verbatim for the second half.
Know 1 can hear you dream - July 27, 2004 - Report this comment
Adam, just because an original has verbatim doesn´t mean your parody have to stop where the repetition begins. Check out, for example, Spaffs great "A few of my resolutions" to this tune, or 2nz´s "The reason why women need men", or my "A few of my favorite streaks" to Spaff´s recording of his parody of the original:

G30RG3: Sorry, I was a bit frazzled at work when I read that; ignore my "I don't understand..." Know 1: Fair point, although be honest... given where my imagination was going on this one re: rhyming ... would you really want more? :-)

Any parody that slams that godawful movie Kill Bill gets 5's from me...

BTW and FYI: I didn´t write that beaver/clever comment. I just picked up on the answer.

Know 1: I know. Sorry- bad formatting on my part- I didn't know the carriage return I had before your name wouldn't carry through to the final message :-(
