Song Parodies -> "The Cells Are Alive - with Mid-Eighties Music"

Original Song Title:

"The Sound Of Music"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Julie Andrews

Parody Song Title:

"The Cells Are Alive - with Mid-Eighties Music"

Parody Written by:

Stuart McArthur

The Lyrics

If (slash when) Jacko gets incarcerated, it could be potentially life-changing for his cell-mates
The cells are alive - with mid-eighties music
Pop songs I'd forgot - flowing through my ears
I feel energised - by that weird dude's music
I want...to moonwalk...to each song
I hear

My heart wants to
beat like the hearts of those little lads
when their rooms went sudd'nly DARK...
My voice wants to
cheer like those million fans he
HAD...
just before he 'jumped the shark'
I hear "Billy Jean" in my concrete pad
as he sings himself to sleep

but to hear
him do "Bad"
is too ironic (even for me)

I stand next to Mike - when we're in the compound
I urge him to do - songs from "Off The Wall"
I just want to blame - it all on the boo-gie
and jive 'til
roll call

Maybe Jacko could be forced to listen to Rodgers and Hammerstein during his encarceration.

Funny, and that's all we can do right now...poke fun at Jacko (he'll pay). 5's

I reckon The Wiggles would be a more torturous choice Steve :)

thanks Adagio - Jacko's so out of touch with reality I almost don't care about him, but what's the deal with those parents?
Adagio - April 13, 2005 - Report this comment

I thought this was going to be about cell phones with Eighties synth-pop ring tones. Haven't we all heard "Tainted Love" too many times? Duran Duran, no mas! Ironic that the most natural rock band of the era was called... the Pretenders. Catch: Don't you mean he'll be walking funnier?
Johnny D - April 13, 2005 - Report this comment
Jacko-Wacko-Backo-Packo!
Stuart McArthur - April 13, 2005 - Report this comment
thanks Catch - and Michael, yes, I think she meant "moonwalking funnier" and that cell-phone-Tainted-Love point is just asking for a parody

thanks Johnny (on behalf of Macko and Zacko in the sacko)

Very well done, Stuart. I like the "HAD" line, implying that the fans are past tense. But, for some inexplicable reason, he still has them.

I totally expected this to be a song about 80s ring tones on Cell Phones =) I liked the 80s references, and Jacko's still a nut!

ABC Funny one, Stu...in an ironic kind of way. (If only...where is he now?) 5's

(ABC) Just read it! (read it!) Read it! (read it!) Have yourself a laugh and read it! This one's by Stu-art, and it's a gas! Boot up your 'puter, sit on your ass, and READ IT!

(ABC3-C) One of the few of yours I've missed, Stu. I unfortunately DKTOS, and my ISP is running at a whopping 19kbs right now, so d/l is out of the question, but I'll trust you and the 18 others on the pacing. Very good stuff here, but I think if (when) MJ goes to the Big House, it will be harder on him than his cellmates. 555

Still enjoyed it...see above!

(ABC3) I just had a sick thought of MJ remaking TSoM with him taking over the Julie Andrews role...may i rot in hell...

ABC3C - Brilliant, Stu. You said so much with so few lines here.
