The Lyrics

I recently submitted an other version of this, but I prefer my re-write
DON’T LIE TO ME, AUNTIE TINA

I can’t believe it
Although it’s true.
Poor uncle Joe is now all on his own.
When I think back to all
You have been through and done.
But you deceived us,
Telling us lies
Every day after day.
I want to take you to one side,
And listen to what you will say.

Why were you so unfaithful?
Was he to blame?
Didn’t he satisfy all your needs,
Making love in the morning
And then last thing at night?
But you weren’t happy;
Did you run off to find somebody new,
And leave him back here on his own?
He’s sitting here thinking of you.

Don’t lie to me, Auntie Tina.
My uncle thought you were truthful.
You had some good times,
He was your lover.
But now it seems like
You’ve found another.

And as for him, well, he’s just confused,
He took you for better than that.
For he thought in his heart
He was all you desired.
But you deceived us.
He wasn’t the person
You wanted at all;
You strung him along all the time.
He’s now feeling ever so small.

Don’t lie to me, Auntie Tina.
I’d rather that you were truthful.
You had some good times
He was your lover.
But now it seems like
You’ve found another.

Have you gone for good?
If you have I suppose he must find someone new.
It’s something he must do
So he won’t be alone.
I say to hell with you!
