Song Parodies -> "Hello, '08, Good-bye Bush"

Original Song Title:

"Hello, Heartache, Good-bye Love"

Original Performer:

Little Peggy March

Parody Song Title:

"Hello, '08, Good-bye Bush"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

After parodying the Dem candidates in "Gonna Be Sick Till It's Through (POTUS Campaign)" and the GOP candidates in "GOP's Sickening, Too", it seems a trilogy should be completed with a (not-so-) fond farewell to the incumbent..... Good news: This OS hasn't been done here before. Bad news: No one's ever heard of it. It hit #26 on the US charts as a follow-up to "I Will Follow Him", the song that made Little Peggy March the youngest female singer ever to have a #1 hit -- a record that still stands. OS lyrics here. Couldn't find a MIDI.
Hello, '08
Good-bye Bush
Good-bye Bush
Good-bye Bush

Dubya,
We're all sick of Dubya
Eight years
Wars and wiretaps

Dump him,
Soon we're gonna dump him
Fin'lly
Voters' patience snaps

Here we go
USA elects
Watch him go --
Back to Crawford, Tex.!
Hello, '08
Good-bye Bush
(Good-bye Bush)

Dump him
Yay! We're gonna dump him
Cheney...
Condoleezza too

Who wins?
Doesn't matter who wins
Someone
Anybody new

There he goes
'Cross the White House lawn
Chopper flies
And he'll soon be gone

Hello, '08
Good-bye Bush
(Good-bye Bush)
(Good-bye Bush)
(Good-bye Bush)
(Good-bye Bush)
(Good-bye Bush)
(fade)

Yeah, he won't really leave until January '09, but "08" was a closer sub for "heartache". © 2007 Tommy Turtle. All rights reserved.

Hey TT, I thought this was pretty decent but not quite as good as your other new submissions, so 544. I think you are going to find the Bush brigade onto you now!

I kept wanting to sing this to the tune of "hello Mary-Lou, goodbye heart"... roll on '08 (but pity whoever replaces him)

As you suggested, I don't know the original song -- and I'm the pre-Beatle song expert around here! But it takes a swipe at Bush, and it's not horrible, so it gets fives from me. As for Peggy March, I looked her up, and she mostly does Vegas -- and Vegas-style material -- now. Looks damn good for 59.

Jason, Phil Alexander, Michael Pacholek, thanks... If you guys can ever find this OS, it's worth it... she's got a huge operatic voice for a 4'10" fifteen-year-old, the kind of voice you don't hear from pop "singers" these days.

Bye-bye, Bush, bye-bye, nastiness, hello cleanliness, January '09, say bye-bye to this swine.

John Barry, thanks... good one; you ought to finish that out and post it.... stuart mcarthur, thanks... are you using alvin's keyboard? lol :-)

yup again - although I switched to a better one to type "Condoleezza" - some say she needs a capital C - (not me though)
