The Lyrics

My first attempt at satire. No, I'm not bashing anyone, I'm just playing with concepts. In the lyrics where you see "Cowboy," I had orignally wrote "Merchant." Please bare with me, this is my first parody.
Everyone's building the skyscrapers and the bridges across the borders which are vast
Some folks are buidling memorials to the fallen while others scrape
out their shady pasts
Everyone is so despondent
Every man, woman and child towing the line
But when Walker the Cowboy gets here
Everyone's gonna dance for joy!

Come on and take without
Come on and take within
You've seen nothing like the Unshakable Walker!

I like to keep things simple like 9 out of 10 people do
But so much spin and fluff from the newsrooms and boardrooms
Well, it's not my scene, as if you need a clue.

Come on and take without
Come on and take within
You've seen nothing like the Unshakable Walker!

Everyone is underneath their umbrellas in the park
They're feeding the squirrels peanuts and corn
But when Herbie Walker the Cowboy gets here
All the squirrels will run to him and sound the horn!

Come on and take without
Come on and take within
You've seen nothing like the Unshakable Walker!

A hair of dog and eye of newt, I can throw words with the best of 'em
Just tell me what the public needs to know
Then I'll make some phone calls
No one living along the Beltway can sleep
There's someone breathing down someone else's neck
But when Walker the Cowboy gets here, heck
Everyone will love him and follow him like sheep.

Come on and take without
Come on and take within
--EVERYBODY-- You've seen nothing like the Unshakable Walker!

Come on and take without
Come on and take within
--EVERYONE-- You've seen nothing like the Unshakable Walker!

When Walker the Cowboy gets here from the airport and into town
Everyone will love him and follow him like sheep.

Umm, I will comment, NHA. I'm sorry, I missed the plot somewhere. I gave you the minimum score on pacing because there didn't seem to be any. I guess the standard that is set in this site tries to be same number of syllables per line, and rhyme when possible (though the last one maybe isn't quite as important). Some of your lines had three or four extra syllables.

I liked your parody. I don't think Peregrin ever heard the song "The Mighty Quinn." Anyway, very topical, I like freestyle!

Freestyle has it's places I guess, although most of it is garbage to me, since most of it that I've seen doesn't have a point. And I gotta agree with Peregrin, I missed the point of this completely. For some reason, I'm thinking "Walker, Texas Ranger", but I'm not sure about that. As far as pacing goes, the first line alone is about twice as long as it should be. I guess the point I'm tryin to make is that parodies really shouldn't be freestyle, or this much off in pacing anyway, unless the humor of the piece depends on it. I'm pretty sure this doesn't.
