The Lyrics

While I would like to take credit for making it up on my own, this song title is the punch line to a joke about Mahatma Gandhi.
Super Calloused Fragile Mystic Plagued by Halitosis by Jeffrey Moran

A small man named Mahatma Gandhi, he walked everywhere.
He didn’t own a pair of shoes, and so his feet were bare.
His soles developed callouses a thick as leather shoes,
And his vegan diet gave him bad breath most profuse.

Chorus:
He was a super calloused fragile mystic plagued by halitosis.
But his sense of truth and justice surely was ferocious.
If only we could learn to do the same by some osmosis
Super calloused fragile mystic plagued by halitosis.

When he was just a lad, Gandhi went to a school of law,
Then he spent twenty years or so in South Africa.
He became a civil rights activist while there.
When he returned to India, began to lose his hair.

Chorus:
He was a super calloused fragile mystic plagued by halitosis.
But his sense of truth and justice surely was ferocious.
If only we could learn to do the same by some osmosis
Super calloused fragile mystic plagued by halitosis.

Gandhi was a hero among the vincibles
Because he favored rights for women and untouchables.
He led the struggle for a free Indian nation
And when he went on hunger strikes, the powerful gave in.

Chorus:
He was a super calloused fragile mystic plagued by halitosis.
But his sense of truth and justice surely was ferocious.
If only we could learn to do the same by some osmosis
Super calloused fragile mystic plagued by halitosis.

Commendations, Jeff, for giving credit where credit was due. I have seen that pun before on the net. And, hmmm, seeing as how the Gandhi door has been opened ......

Heard this one on SNL, I think: "Who can take the British/Bring 'em to their knees/ With some pacifist resistance/And a bowl of curry, please? The Gandhi Man can/". The dude was certainly weird, especially if you delve into his story a bit deeper than the extraordinary, long movie bio from 1983. But, he did take a nation ruled by a distant, but competent colonial government, and divide it into three dystopias that have been at war since 1947.

Talk about your ringing Gandhi endorsements!!! How 'bout that Patrick! And to Jonathan .... How many times I gotta tell ya; once you get a sub for that title, it ain't so hard. You just need to find about 6 words that end in -ocious. After that, it's simply three standard eight line stanzas

I believe I heard this one on LNS -- Who's tripping round the streets of New Delhi .. Smiling at every Dalit he sees .. Who's in a film that starring Ben Kingsley .. Everyone knows it's Gandhi

It would be better as “Super Calloused Fragile Mystic HEXED by Halitosis,” in my opinion.
