The Lyrics

If you have not read Scene 1, "Why Can't Musicians Get Their Parodies To Pace?", please read it before reading this Scene.

FG is at her home, and TT, in his burrow. Though far apart, their ESP and general mind-melding cause them to start musing aloud at about the same time.

TT:
It's rather dull at AIR; perhaps I'll e-mail ChuckyG. Hmmm...

FG:
I'm getting sick of his nit-pick; try tough talk: Tommy T. Hmmm...

TT:
If not train wreck, but blended: Write it (bummer!) with FG!

FG:
Hmm, hmm

TT:
Hmm, hmm

BOTH, separate but equal:
Wouldn't it be loverly?

READER, to FG:
[spoken]
Why's he hound ya now, dear Ms. Fiddle? Little nits?

FG:
All I want is a site, unique
Far away from the Turtle's beak
So he cannot critique
Oh, wouldn't it be loverly?

TT:
All I want is a page somewhere
Far away from the censor's glare
To stare at derriére
And write of coupling lovingly

Oh, so lovingly writing of lamb-pooning at my will
I would never stop till lamb... and readers both had their fill!

FG:
Lots of voters who think I'm sweet
Lots of Fives, is my page replete
Away from flippered feet
Oh, wouldn't it be loverly?

Loverly, loverly
Loverly, loverly

ALL:
All we want is a tune at AIR
Fiddlegirl: no one can compare
Prepare with care so rare

FG:
Until TT discovered me

"This, delete; that line's incomplete"
Feelings: cold; gives me lots of heat
"Watch pace and metric feet" [1]
Until I cry, "Oh, Brother! Gee!"

TT:
Oh, so talented, kitten; and so: groomin' skill by drill
I won't let her fudge one thing ... keep playing Jack to her Jill

ALL:
Two good heads writin' par-o-dy
Render splendor, do he and she

FG:
At times, unfair to me
But sometimes, treats ... me lovingly.

ALL:
Shove her, he?

FG:
Smother me

ALL:
Love her, T!

[Whistled interlude]

FG:
Oh, shouldn't it ... be: Tommy, me?

ALL:
Dove, is she

FG:
Love me, T.!

ALL:
Love her, T.!
Couldn't they team lovingly?

Unfortunately, their differences continue to overshadow both their good intentions and the good wishes of the AmIRighters. Will the Professor regret his decision to take her in? Tune in tomorrow, and find out!

[1] "metric foot", or just "foot" (in verse) - a group of syllables, usually two or three but sometimes four, forming the basic unit of poetic rhythm. One word may contain many feet, and one foot may span several words.

For example, in this song, the main verse feet are two syllables each:
To stare / at der / riére

(Applauds): Another fine performance from the Girl and the Turtle! A "loverly" rendition well made! I've also noticed that you guys made the authors' list on AIR as well! Enjoyed the "friendly" quarrels in your lines! Another 555 star performance! Encore! :)

Loverly lyrics, indeed...

As a friend of the AIRts I must heAIRtily re-plaud Christie's AIR-plause! Birthing an entire musical is daunting at least and TTotally FriGin' whacked-out on the other end of the speculum... I'm happy to report this baby's vitals are fine in ewetero, slurtex position, completely hee'ffaced and ready to drop... Now, is it to be two a day for 8 days, or will scenes be released according to some arcane formula involving DaSinci's load and FG's minsteral cycle?
BTW: I'm so relieved the artistic direction you took MFL doesn't (yet) appear to be devolving into "Sty Dare 'Fraidy"!

Nice - stuck to the theme well and I just followed while listening on YouTube to the OS. Well written and picks up all the nuances of the OS.

Lamb pooning - I like it. If you was thinking of a (Roman) goat instead would you be satyrizing

Christie Marie M: Thank you! Thank you! .. .instead of an encore, how's about a couple of more scenes tomorrow, etc... and when it's all done, perhaps then, the encore? Thanks CMM, and so glad your cold is gone!

AFW: Thanks, indeed!

TJC: As per my comment at Scene 1, I was sooo hoping FG would answer first, esp. so I wouldn't have to touch that "minstrel cycle" line with a ten-inch forceps! .. As for posting schedule, guess you can wait and see, or keep speculumating!

Timmy1000: Best possible compliment -- thank you -- that you could follow easily to OS on YT, and to have captured it in the parody, nuances and all. To this writer, that is the Holy Grail of parody. Thank you so much for saying that we succeeded in this one. Only 14 more to live up to!

Andy Primus: ROFLMAO!!!! :-D .. thanks for uproarious v/c!

Sound Of Booze-sick: Give us time, give us time! ... thanks for v/c!

CMM: Thank you! And, yes, the "quarrels", such as they are, are generally quite congenial. :)

AFW: A loverly compliment-- Thank you.

TJC: I have Permanent Minstrel Syndrome... (unlike TT, who has Permanent Male Syndrome, but that's another story...) ;)

T1K: Heady praise, indeed! And, as TT said, exactly the goal. :D

Andy P: Hahaha!!! Too clever. ;)

Sound Of Booze-sick: Oh my, my, my, what a creative little mind you have! ;) Thanks for v/c!

I've never had a male permanent in my life, thank you (scales, no hair, anyway). And as far as your permanent PMS, well, you said it, I didn't ;) xoxoxo

Ambitious project, indeed. I look forward to the next scenes.

(from the trombone section in the orchestra pit) Great show, but why did they have to write this song in five sharps! ;D
Fiddlegirl - October 01, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Patrick! Glad you enjoyed... :)

OMR: (from the violin section on the opposite side of the pit) Whine, whine, whine... as the strings negotiate all the flat keys-- sheesh! ;)
Tommy Turtle - October 02, 2009 - Report this comment
Patrick: Ditto FG.

Old Man Ribber (from the electronic keyboard section) .. Try "Woman In Love", sung by Barbra (check that spelling!) Streisand, and written by -- ya ready for this? The Bee Gees .... truth. Written in Eb min relative to Gb maj, so there are *six* flats. (Including Cb, a/k/a B.) You play it mostly on the black keys (on a keyboard). Geez, couldn't they have just written it in Em rel to G (one sharp only)? Could Streisand not have stretched up another half-step? ... thanks for v/c. ...

btw, "Take A Chance On Me", by ABBA, was also written in B (five sharps); one more half step and it would have been a piece-of-cake C. Who knows why? .... TT parodied it, but won't plug it, as it might not be to your taste, but you know how to find it if interested -- and you'll also know why "plug" is a monstrous pun in this context. :D

Loverly pacing and rhymes, 555. Oh, and I ran over a sharp once and ended up with two flats! ;-D

blackjack21: Well, now you know why *they* always say: "C# or Bb!" ;=)

Enjoying this immensely. I love how the personalities and sparks, real and manufactured, translate so well into the storyline parody. Should be a long running hit.

metaphorsbwithu: Thanks for the kind words. We hope so, too ... and glad the Real World has given you a little breathing room. Thanks for stopping by to v/c and follow from the beginning.
