The Lyrics
The Turnpike Theater was a combination indoor/drive-in movie house in East Brunswick, New Jersey. There's a tacky condo development on the site now. The last movie I saw there was "WarGames," in 1983, in which a high school student played by Matthew Broderick unwittingly hacks into the U.S. Department of Defense, and activates a battle simulation created by Dr. Stephen Falken (played by English Shakespearean actor John Wood). And in order to prevent a nuclear war (a.k.a. "DEFCON-1"... no emergency at all is "DEFCON-5"), Broderick's gotta find Falken... Let's just say that, in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," Broderick had much more flair in using computers for his ends.

Hee...nice job! And I know I've seen the movie...but it was so long ago that I don't remember it.
I will say, however, that I wished that I WAS Ally Sheedy for a while...but that was in the days of "Short Circuit."

but it was the game of tic tac toe that reduced the computer to a shambolic basket-case, wasn't it? - loved the movie (called "War Games" here) and Ally Sheedy (in this movie only) and loved the parody, MP - 555
defcon 5-5-5 and arwen, yes, I drooled over Ally Sheedy for a couple of years too.. in short circuit every time I seen her all I coulf think of ( in Johnny five voice) INPUT!!!
