The Lyrics

Some girls are just never satisfied...

When I’m alone
No boys are tryin' to own me
Looking to and fro…I frown
Get a bit worried
Need a guy in a hurry
No one comes, oh no…I frown

Don’t want to come off desp’rate; I don’t need your freakin’ pity
Only want a boyfriend to assure me that I’m pretty
And buy me shoes

I’ve got no one standing there
I need some love on the double, I’ll search everywhere but then
I frown…I can’t find anyone
I frown…who wants to be “The One”
I frown…nobody’s pining for me

(I frown)
(I frown)

Then there are times
I’ve got a guy who’s all mine but
He’s too clingy, gross…I frown
Give me some room
‘Cause I can’t sleep in this tomb, you
Call it love? Oh no…I frown

This ain’t the middle ages, I don’t need a man to bind me
Loosen up your grip on me, or else you’re gonna find me
Sneaking away

Why don’t you stand over there
Let me be Miss Independent; don’t need this affair, and bro
I frown…when you hold me too tight
I frown…longing for a girls night
I frown…we’re breaking up, a-right now!

(I frown)
(I frown)

I frown!
I frown!

And you might find somebody who can change their tune like I do
Never want the things I’ve got, I always wanna try to
Change what is wrong

The grass is much greener where
I don’t happen to be standing, until I get there and then
I frown…not as fun as I thought
I frown…who knows just what I want?
I frown…nothing and no one will do…

I frown
(I frown)
I frown
(I frown)
I frown
(I frown)
I frown
(I frown)

(repeat and fade out)

Witty and catchy. A very easy ready, and it flows very nicely.

AFW...thanks! :)

Porfle...hahaha...I think the catchiness has more to do with the ease of the OS than it does with my lyrics...but thank you for the compliment anyway! :)

Jefferoo...hahaha...you're an original all the way! :) Thanks...

Callmelennie...hee hee...well, it's kind of important. haha. ;)

Jonathan...thank you!

WarrenB...ease of reading is always my goal...so thanks for a great compliment! :)

Great read, and great OS of choice. Like Callmelennie, I also was caught at the 'shoes' line
Meriadoc - June 29, 2012 - Report this comment
Loved the shoes also, and the grass is greener lines

Oh. My. Gosh! Visits/comments from my two favorite hobbits of all time?? I'm more giddy to hear from you both than I am that you liked the parody... ; ) I'm really glad you liked the parody, though...thanks to both of you!!!

Awww! How could we forget you? :) We are (trying) to make a comeback - hopefully you all will be hearing more from us in the future.

Right up there with the Allen Sherman version--love it!

(Arwen Sherman... is that you?)

What can I say other than "Very Catchy!" Haha, Well done madam and I haven't seen this original song parodied in awhile I forgot how much I actually enjoyed it back when I heard it. Fun stuff didn't make me frown at all.
Blaydeman - July 29, 2012 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I refuse to use the phrase "catchy" (even though it was. I laughed so hard at your pre-song comment. Ain't that the truth! LOL!
bobpiecheese - July 31, 2012 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I love the contrast between the upbeat OS that wouldn't be out of place in an early Disney movie and the half-depressing, half-hilariously-picky parody lyrics. Such a contrast really tickles me, so I really enjoyed this parody, even if the odd structure of the OS had me a bit confused to start with. 555!

This is a great song for parodies, and you utilized it well as usual Arwen. Nice work. Now I can enjoy this and the Allen Sherman version, like others have said.

I've only heard the OS once or twice before but you did a great job with the pacing. The "buy me shoes" line really made me laugh as well. Nice work as always!
