The way we should engage in our discourse.
Turn down that hateful rhetoric
And all that monstrous angry shtick!
Foreswear those words of vi-o-lence and force.

It's only the right wing
That says this stuff -
Those phrases that might sting
And words so rough!
The angry words you hear today
You'll never hear progressives say:
"Just punish all your opponents", son.
"If they bring a knife then we'll bring a gun!"
"Punch them back twice as hard!"(1)
'Twas Sarah Palin who said this - the right wing bard!
Plays the hate card!

It's called the New Civility.
We must have this ability.
Rush Limbaugh causes all this hate you see.
And all this mass insanity
Is caused by folks like O'Reilly.
You won't here it on M.S.N.B.C.!

But Anthony Weiner
And Steve Cohen -
There's nobody meaner,
Don't cross them, friend!
The newfound niceness we confide
Only applies to just one side.
What S.E.I.U. does - no one cares,
When they put Wal-Mart in their cross hairs.
This thought was not conceived in haste.
For we will "never let a crisis go to waste"!
