The Lyrics

If you didn't notice, the two keys words "hope' and "change" were replaced in this election cycle with "balanced approach". Now that we've faced the fiscal cliff, we belatedly learn that "balanced approach" actually means "no cuts, just more taxes for even more spending". Oh well, "elections have consequences"...as in the old game show Truth Or Consequences. ;D

We saw the fiscal cliff.
O's response? More than stiff.
No spending cuts. His views:
He wants more revenues! He says
No programs get the ax. He'll just
Nail the "rich" with much more tax.
This is what Obama calls a
"Balanced Approach".

More tax hikes on the way.
Cuts must wait some other day.
He won't negotiate.
"I won. I've got my mandate!" He says
Only his way makes sense.
'Lections all have consequence.
Yet he keeps on claiming his is
"Balanced Approach".

He won't spend his time in D.C. and provide leadership.
He's out giving speeches because he's so hip.
He's told everybody how it's gonna be
And then flew back and forth to party in Wakiki! He's got

No worries, not a care.
He thinks we want class warfare.
More spending, never less-
But we're still in a mess. He'll just
Soak all the "evil rich", while he
Demonizes John and Mitch.
And he dares to call this crap a
"Balanced Approach".

Won't offer any plan.
He'll keep playin' Kick The Can.
He's told the Congress yet
"No talk! You'll raise the debt". And now
He's ordered in his way
"Raise Congress's and Joe's pay!"
What a most unhinged unbalanced
"Balanced Approach".
"Balanced Approach".

Yes, President Obama did actually raise the pay of members of Congress and Vice-President Biden by executive order. To the Democrats, it's a payoff and to Republicans it's a bribe. Ah, the nuances of Chicago politics. ;D

I think he already said that "Balanced approach" will be used when they start talking about spending with their 2 month delay - so here come more taxes.

as we saw his first campaign "Hope And Change" actually wound up being "Rope And Chains" how he got elected again is beyond me 555!

Every day we watch the sin of envy being played out in the halls of congress. Every dollar taken by the government from some "rich" person, is one less dollar that person will have to buy something from someone lower down the income scale. It's an indirect tax no one seems to recognize. As far as I'm concerned, the only one in DC with a "mandate" is Barney Frank. But the big Zero has done a good job of keeping most of his past out of the lamestream media. Good song.

Taking a 'balanced approach' on the edge of a 'fiscal cliff' sounds a bit dangerous to me..! A perfectly paced gem, with the laid-back OS providing a nice touch of sarcasm to the subject matter. 555 :^)
