THEY ARE REVIEWING THE PRESENT SYSTEM

The world's in a mess, isn't it?
And under some stress, isn't it?
And though we may think that this country is one of the best,
Some policies made in the past are behind all the rest.

They are reviewing the present system,
And are hoping to relax the current rules.
Many changes need to be taken,
And especially for our children in the schools.
When they're sent home it is hell for me,
The wife she goes and yells at me,
My boss is on the phone to me,
Frustrated, has a groan at me,
My kids are asking things of me,
And setting lots of tasks for me.
I hope they're going to think it out again.

A man needs a break, doesn't he?
He knows what's at stake, doesn't he?
A holiday's all that he asks and to go where it's hot.
But ministers haven't a clue and they all lost the plot.

They are reviewing the present system,
With their traffic lights of red, amber and green.
What they need is some bolder action,
As the rules they have right now are quite obscene!
We're hoping that new rules will say
That we can go on holiday,
And not just here, but far away,
And not next year, but now, today!
We want to shout a big hooray,
But everything is looking grey.
I hope they're going to think it out again.

I want to do more; wouldn't you?
And say "Sod the law!", wouldn't you?
It seems like an age since I managed to go to a show,
But during this time there has simply been nowhere to go.




They are reviewing the present system,
So the theatres can be full before too long.
On the outside, at sports arenas,
To restrict the numbers going is just wrong!
The plans in place, they make no sense,
And thus they have a consequence,
Of making people so intense;
The upshot of it all immense.
Is it a wonder we're incensed
With people sitting on the fence!
I hope they're going to think it out again!
