The Lyrics

I love the Olympics, yet...this parody was inspired by a soup commercial which began with the words, "Sarah Hughes loves gold."
Gold medal!
It's the prize, the prize with the wide appeal,
A pride appeal.

Such a bold medal
Beckons you to vie for Olympic fame.
It's just a game!

You won't settle for silver or bronze.
Just one slip of the foot and you're gone!
When that golden disc hangs from your torso,
It will rule your life, and more so—

Gold medal!
Pretty jock, beware of that disc of gold:
It steals your soul!

You won't settle for silver or bronze.
Just one slip of the foot and you're gone!
When that golden disc hangs from your torso,
It will rule your life, and more so—

Gold medal!
Pretty jock, beware of that disc of gold:
It steals your soul!

They want only gold!
Only gold!
They want gold!
They want only gold!
Only gold!
They want gold!

well done

This parody makes a timely statement with humor and cleverness, but I'm not sure why you changed from second person to third person in the last verse.
