The Lyrics

OS lyrics here. Slight pacing variations in the many MIDIs on the Web, but this one's melody was much clearer than most, so parody is paced to it and to memories of the OS.
Agrimorfee, my old friend
It's nice to talk with you again
Because the busy life I'm leading
Left no time: writing or reading
But the tribute that you wrote to me last May
Saw today
So, thank you, Ag...rimorfee

For seven months, worked day and night
Couldn't visit AmIRight
Until Christmas, took a week off
And wrote "This Da*n Contraption" (coughplugcough)
Did a Google search for my name on the message board
And was I floored! --
Tribute from Ag...rimorfee

And in his parody I saw
Fifteen TT songs, maybe more
Comments posted, quite flatter-ing
Made me feel like I was mattering
"King of Tributes" (Cat, thanks!) -- Sounded like they cared
In shock, I stared
Thanks, all, and Ag...rimorfee

What a fool I was to go
Folks, believe me, Real World blows
Read my songs that I might teach you
Pardon me when I might preach you
Hope my words will make you laugh, not gag
As his do: Mr. Ag--
--rimorfee

Tribute had a couple kinks:
No footnotes or hyperlinks :-)
But no question, it cap...tured me
And its words, they enrap...tured me
And his song said, "The words of the Turtle
"Are Virgil's guide to Dante's Hell"
He knows me "damn" well :)
You got me! -- good one, Ag...rimorfee

Good re-tributing...don't believe there is such a word, but good job, anyway

One good turn deserves another as they say. Karma points for you on the message board as soon as I can get there...and, even if the OS does'nt agree with some of your pacing, a 555 as well.

There's a Real World? This is excellent from start to finish.

Below Average Dave, thanks, and tributes are a favorite parody form for me as well.

Aww... that was cute. I agri making a song like this is the sweetest form of re-trib.. erm, con-tribution here.
TT - January 05, 2007 - Report this comment
Susanna Viljanen... thanks for agriing... sometimes, your first thought, "retrib..." is more accurate lol, but not here.
PMS - January 05, 2007 - Report this comment
Another touching tribute from Tommy Turtle. Tremendous

PMS, thanks so much.

Please disregard the above faker's post, soon to be removed.

The Real Agrimorfee: Are you saying that the one captioned: "Agrimorfee - January 04, 2007 10:50:11 AM" isn't you? I guess one way to verify the forged-nick dilemma when it happens is to pm which one is the real post, since pms are password-protected. What does everyone think of this idea?
Below Average Dave - January 30, 2007 - Report this comment
I'd love to see some way to optionally protect names. Where someone could post unregistered, but if you register a specific name no one else could post under it.
Agrimorfee - January 31, 2007 - Report this comment
TT (and to anyone else confused) : (sigh) Someone took issue with the commentary that I gave on another parody and took it out on Tommy's own parody by writing under MY NAME. People sometimes just can't be mature about these things.
Tommy Turtle - January 31, 2007 - Report this comment
Below Average Dave: Red Ant and I had some discussion about pass-protecting comments, and it was noted that people like to be able to make funny comments under unregistered, phony nicks such as "George Dubya". Your idea is a great one, although I expect people could still get around it using hacker-speak: T0mmy, B3l0w Av3rag3 Dav3, Agr1m0rf33, etc. You could suggest it on the message board. Unregistered punny names are cool, but forgery sucks.

Agrimorfee: This pea-brain is still confused as to which comment is real! The first one, under AFW's, is a nice one, whoever wrote it...

Agrimorfee: Apparently, the fake comment was removed before I ever saw it, which is just as well, but perhaps explains my confusion.... thanks again for votes and (real) comments :)
