The Lyrics

I've just returned to Britain after a few weeks back home in Oz, so I thought I'd write a little tribute to my homeland...hope you like it!
Australia, the place of my birth
Where Vegemite flows like the Ganges
In Australia, the men are are all brave
With sheep, misbehave...it's my home

Australia, it's big and it's brown
It's got a large rock in the middle
In Australia there's spiders and snakes
We eat lots of steaks, those T-bones...it's my home

Waking up (hungover I fear)... in Australia,
Overdosed on beer (Overdosed!)
Think I must've drunk a case
Gonna spew, and a wombat is licking my face

Australia, you go for a swim
With hungry sharks keeping you focussed
In Australia, the crocodiles snack
Don't wander outback on your own...on your own

Big sheep stations, abundance of 'roos
It's waiting for your exploration
Big crustaceans, the barbie's fired up
On shrimp we will sup, what a nation!

Super, Kristof - You've just made it quite clear to me why Oz produces such strong swimmers :-)

In Australia, where I still abide our sportsmen are our only champions Australia, you'll never describe the sunshine, the blue skies, the ambience (it's our home)

Thanks guys! Phil...yeah, there's nothing like a Great White on your tail to get your times down. Stuart...you've made me go all teary! Cheers...

Even though I'm on the other side of the globe from you, I still appreciate the sentiment behind the lyrics and thought you matched the original pacing/rhymes very well. Three more fives from me--may your talent never go "down under"!

Fortunately, a 5 looks roughly the same upside down. And I still think Paul Hogan made a third "Crocodile Dundee" movie because he wanted to get people's minds off that bonehead Steve Irwin (see my parody "Crocodile Shlock")! Oz? Where everyone had a brain, a heart, courage and a home all along! (OK, maybe Irwin doesn't have a brain.)

Excellent job, Kristoff...a wonderful tribute to your homeland. You know, it's not true that 'Yanks" think they're the only ones with any National pride...only the stupid ones feel that way (about 51% right now according to the most recent polls...)

Hahahaha that was a bloody good one mate, all 5's from this fellow Aussie bloke!!! Been wanting to see an Aussie related parody for a long time, this parody has made my day. Must admit though I'm still yet to see prawns (shrimps) get barbecued as all the family barbies I been to have not once barbecued prawns, but generally barbecued steaks, chops, snags along with onions and maybe a bit of VB poured on top of them occasionally hehehehe. Anyways good onya for writing such a cool Austrhaaaaaalian parody!!!

Wow, how'd I miss this last October? Fantastic! 555 gm of Vegemite ... so, is "Oz" a colloquialism for "Australia"? If it is, very cute!

Morning an exclusive visit of the Jain temples inside the Sonar Kila.. The Janis are a community that respects life and are pure vegetarians by religion. Visit the citadel's palace that houses a museum with a huge collection of robes and artifacts from the royal family of Jaisalmer. Visit the Patwaon ki haveli with intricately designed latticed windows used by the ladies to view the external world. Ronald Reagan used a teleprompter. The last President who didn't was Richard Nixon -- you want a President who compares to him? Actually, we just got rid of one: Bush used a teleprompter, and he still couldn't speak clear English! But P.I. is right about one thing: HIS kind's future is gone... but America's is assured. ====================================== David110 Homes
