The Lyrics

S.O.D.D.I.T = Some Other Dude Did It
Are you watching celebrity fare
Martha, Blake, O.J. and sick Mike
Killers and cheaters, one likes kids bare
They once were some people we liked

Martha is selling her old prison shirts
(On the steps of her home reporters won't leave)
No jail shaves, thighs hairy with slime
(Now trims her bush with old garden shears)
Without K-Mart, she now needs work
(As O.J. cleans and polishes his knife)
Michael has a new love...he's nine
(Sleeps unaware of the monster in bed)

Robert, like O.J., says S.O.D.D.I.T's to blame
(He bellows crazy 'bout harlot wife's stallions)
I must say, grows weary and trite
(Funeral parlors have gravesites now filled)
They search the world over for guilty man
(They have sold out their soul, but don't think we've forgotten)
And Michael's found a new love...he's five

Michael he (bleeped) it with a sick young bed wetter
(As I watch from my couch as he perp walks to court)
O.J.'s rage, grows weary with time
(Lacking in sorrow, from golf course just frowns)
Here's wishing that his old glove had fit better
(Millions of dollars the lawyers are countin')
Then he'd be a cell mate of Mike

Are we treating celebrities fair
Martha, Blake, O.J. and sick Mike
Dismember them, for all that I care
They're no longer idols of mine

Very impressive, Dee! Dark-ish, but with enough black humour to balance it out...great job! 555

I'm lovin' the dark humor...something we don't see nearly enough of around here. Well done! 555

But, Dee! OJ's still out there looking for the REAL killer, and he could EASILY be on a golf course, so how about giving him a little latitude! - LOL! - loved the Jacko new-love running gag too - 555

I was glad to see you write another parody, and this is worth reading.

Great song, but what is SODDIT?

Another incisive look at the banality of celebrity. Nice work, Dee.

Kristof, many thanks. Your "Guitarborough Fair" was so fantastic it inspired me to finish this off after sitting there for a month...Charlie, thanks. I tend to write with dark humor a lot, writing about child molestation, aids and gays, perverts, and the like. It's hard to be as humorous as you want without offending victims and their families.....Stuart, so right you are about killers on golf courses. A judge is probably playing in O.J.'s foursome, so that they can try the REAL killer as soon as he is caught(Although golf etiquette demands they allow the killer to finish putting out)....Royce, thanks so much.....Agrimorfee, thanks. SODDIT, as I explained in the song preface, is the common defense lawyer tactic of "Some Other Dude Did IT".....John Barry and AFW, thanks so much......Johnny D, you are too kind, but thanks for the compliment!

Damn, I just realized what this song was. One of my ALL time favorites. 5 years old for MJ, 5 months for Martha Spewart and 5 Million dollar wrongful death settlement for OJ. ( Robert Blake is brainwashed by Nirvana's line " No I swear that I don't have a gun ").
