"Mr. Robertson"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This song is about the outrageous comments that Pat Robertson has made over the years, everything is rooted in an actual comment or comments he has made over the years.
Mr. Robertson

Hindus, buddhists, witches, mormons, muslims all abound
There are atheists and even U F O's
Christian scien tists along with uni tari ans
It's clear we should exterminate them all

1st chorus
Please save us all Mr.Robertson
God is losing patience don't you see, hee hee hee
cults are alive Mr. Robertson
The liber als are way out of control, wo wo wo, wo wo wo

Commies gays and women's rights are threats we must resist
The bible says that we must smite them all
Over there's the antichrist, the one who is not white
We christians are the only pat riots

2nd chorus
Are you insane Mr. Robertson,Arichie Bunker would agree with you, wo wo wo
What is your truth Mr. Robertson
do the ten commandments still apply today, hey hey hey, hey hey hey

Plotting from the pulpit of your 700 club
We'll strip all women of the right to choose
the bible says 'thou shalt not kill," except for communists
Of course we know that God will understand

Where have you gone Joe McCarthy
The Faithful long to see your face in view, wo wo wo,
Oh there you are Mr. Robertson,
McCarthyism lives in you I see, hee hee hee, hee hee hee

Sorry I didn't have time to write in the chords but the format is the same as the original song, except I start out with the verse not the chorus

I think if you spent more time working on timing and structure instead of a blantasnt attack on a godly man, this may have been good. But all i see is a bad working to spew your dislike of Pat Robertson

I think the blatant attack on a "godly" man was legitimate. As the author notes, this is the hatred spewed by this "godly man". That being said, I think the read was choppy and upset the pacing flow. The idea and content are there, the write needs to be improved. bob

I was fortunate enough to hear the author perform this song in person. It was excellent and made me laugh out loud. The criticisms about the timing or choppiness are generally way off the mark. Listen to the original or play along. The flow is very good. The single weak point is "Where have you gone Joe McCarthy" and it only makes you sing Mc Car ar thy to match Di mag gi o. No big. You may even find Paul Simon make one syllable into 2 or 3 at times (can you say: Koda chro oh ome?) Regarding the attack on a godly man, it's sort of like the books of George W. Bush quotes. When people reveal themselves in their own words, God is certainly not fooled and neither are most of the rest of us.
