The Lyrics

There's a lot of younger people and students on this site. This is for them.
I'm sittin' with my reading glasses
Got assignments from all seven classes
Mmmm oh, yuck
On a road to my degree, another night I'm up till three
Another coffee cup for me, for a student is just meant to be

Homework bound, Yes I sure am
Homework bound

Math- where my brain keeps tripping
Psych- where my Freud is slipping
Comp- where my paper's sitting
Blankly before me

Every day's the same old grind of trying to improve my mind
And each Prof sounds the same to me, the droning about history
And each branch of zoology
Reminds me that I'm going to be

Homework bound, Yes I sure am
Homework bound

Lit. It's that Shakespeare play-ing
French- Parlez-vous Francais-ing
Speech- glad my folks are paying
For the tuition

Today I'll go to class again, hand in work scrawled in pen
Then all my grades come back to me, thus proving mediocrity
There's emptiness inside of me, I need a brewski, two or three

Homework bound, Yes I sure am
Homework bound

Math- where it's no use trying
Psych- where my mind is frying
Life- where my future's waiting
Blankly before me

Blankly before me

Rick D - Great job! I got somes out loud laughs on this one, especially at the "then all my grades come back to...." section.

"There’s emptiness inside of me, I need a brewski, two or three" ... brings back memories of when the drinking age in Massachusetts was 18 back when I was an undergrad at M.I.T..........during the warm weather, students would spontaneously gather on the steps of 77 Massachusetts Avenue on Friday afternoons, pass a straw hat (or styrofoam straw hat) around to collect donations, and then someone would make a beer run for cases and cases of Coors (well, it was the late 1970's, okay?) ... we'd sit on the steps, drink, talk, one or two folks might be playing guitars, and we'd all collectively try to regain our sanity after another week at "The Tute". 555, good job, Rick.

What a great parody, Rick! I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Rick's parodies are not to be laughed at!". I saved it in my Best of Am I Right folder, it's that good. LOL, FOC, SATFLC, & GY5s (translation: Laughing out loud, falling off chair, spinning around the floor like Curly, and giving you 5s!).

I agree with all of the previous comments. The only thing wrong with this parody is the introduction. It isn't just for the young people - it's for all of us who have ever been students.
