NOW IT'S CHRISTMAS

Are you glad to see the back of this last year?
Put the past behind and get back in top gear?
Have you had enough of Covid?
Are you good to go today?
For at last it's time to shout a big hooray.

We thank the Lord, now it's Christmas,
And can celebrate at last.
Being stuck here on my own,
I'm glad that's in the past.

I'll be glad at last to get down to the pub,
Grab a drink or two and eat their lovely grub.
It's so good that things are different,
So much better than last year.
And on Christmas Day my family will be here.

How do you think I'll do
When I get the chance to act as Santa Claus?
Ah ha!

I just love to give out gifts to girls and boys;
It's a treat to watch them playing with their toys.
Then to watch them building snowmen,
And to have a snowball fight
With their mums and dads, it's such a glorious sight.
