The Lyrics

Loved Australia, loved the beer, loved the pubs. I brought a couple of Slim's CDs back to ol' California and I couldn't resist this one. Yobbo = a man who drink too much and sings loudly
loo = toilet
swaggie = hobo
codger = old man
I had to study the language for six months to get the expressions.

It's lonesome away from kindred and all
By the campfire at night when the wild dingos howl
But there's nothing so lonesome morbid or drear
Than pub karaoke when they've drunk too much beer

The publican Terry, he don't give a shit
As long as they're buying he'll put up with it
The old karaoke is getting a whack
It sounds like the yobbos are skinning a cat

Janie the barmaid just pockets the tips
She'll get three proposals by the end of her shift
She just keeps on smiling and pulling the beers
She's got wads of cotton wool stuffed in her ears

Angus from Glasgow has got it worked out
He heads to the loo every time it's his shout
And Bill's seeing double so he orders two more
Then quietly Bill slithers onto the floor

Sheila is out on the prowl for a guy
She'll never let a chance pass her by
Her face is rough as weathered old boot
But to drunken yobbos she looks a real beaut

The swaggie comes in really tonguing for beer
The poor thirsty codger can't believe what he hears
He listens a moment then backs out the door
He's not quite as thirsty as he thought before

The dog on the verandah for his master he waits
But the boss is inside singing loud with his mates
He hurries for cover and cringes with fear
With both of his paws clamped over his ears

It's lonesome away from kindred and all
By the campfire at night when the wild dingos howl
But there's nothing so lonesome morbid or drear
Than pub karaoke when they've drunk too much beer

Bloody awesome, mate! As an expat Aussie living in London, it's great to see some Slim being parodied. Bravo! 555

My relatives from Australia got me hooked on Slim years ago. Great parody. Very much in his spirit.

Well it lonesome away from your kindred and all with a pain in the guts from a great lovers ball but theres nothing more painful shocking or queer than to knock of a barmaid that's got gonorea. The publicans anxious for the chemist to come and is looking with lust at the barmaids big bum, he's longing to give her a belt up the back but without a French letter he might get the jack. The stockman strides in with a masterly stroke, he pulls the pants of her asse and he gives her a poke, but the smile on his face quickly turns to a sneer when the barmaid informed him she's got gonorea. The swaggie walks in undoing his fly say's give us a poke or I will shoot in your eye,the stock man jumps up and says don't do it mate but the swaggie say sadly it's too Fkn late. Billy the blacksmith first time in his like went home with a roger to his darling wife as he jumped in the bed she said with a tear without a French letter you will get nothing here. The dog on the veranda is suffering from shock he just seen the size of old Billy's cock, he runs to the corner and shivers from fear, bills bound to f..k something I'm voting from here.

I love this one, I've been singing it forever, but can't remember where I first heard it.
