The Lyrics

Continuing my 'Sound of Music' series. Those yodels were hell to key in. Maybe more to come. If you have a problem with gay marriage, maybe you shouldn't read it, but even if you do, I think you'll enjoy it anyway.
THE MANLY DOTARD

High on a hill was a manly dotard
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
Deep was the voice of that lonely dotard
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel ooh

Odin was his name - folks had oft this quote heard
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
Lusty and clear from his manly throat heard
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel ooh

Oh ho lay dee yodel lee ho, oh ho lay dee yodel ay
Oh ho lay dee yodel lee ho, lay dee yodel lee ho lay

A mince in this prince as he wandered inferred
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
His Maker on him had the wrong sex conferred
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel ooh

Odin consulted a surgeon, got word
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
Certain procedures could render him she-bird
Lay-ee- yodel lay-ee-yodel ooh

Under the knife went this lusty dotard
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
All his assets he did have to float, heard!
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee yodel ooh

He selected a pale pink coat, furred
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
Then Odin went back to his friends to gloat, heard!
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee yodel ooh

Soon all his friends from near and remote heard
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee-yodel lay hee hoo
What have you done? You look totally absurd!
Lay-ee-yodel lay-ee yodel ooh

Odie lady! Odie lady!
Odie lady-ee! Odie lady-ee!
Odie lady!

Felt like a girl in her pale pink coat, furred.
Lady Odie, lady Odie, lady ho.
Had a duet on her brand new boat, heard!
Lady Odie, Laddie Eddie ooh!

Soon they were wed with a nuptial rote-word
Lady Odie, laddie Eddie. ho ho ho
Blushing big bride with her best beau Edward
Lady Odie, Eddy-Odie ooh!

Happy are they, Lady Odie and he oh
Lady Odie, lady Eddie, lady ho
Want to adopt and become a trio
Lady Odie, laddy Eddie ooh!

Odie lady! Odie lady!
Odie lady-ee! Odie lady-ee!
Odie lay Eddie lay, Odie lay, Eddie lay, Odie lay Eddie lay
Odie lady, Eddie laddie oh
Whew!

As a SOM fan I always liked this OS and I think you did a fantastic job with it.

Much appreciated, Porfle, esp. coming from you. There are a couple of minor cock-ups (no pun intended) hidden in there but it was a tough one to tackle so on the whole I was pleased with it.

In light of Trump the Dotard...I think it's time for you to re-write and recirculate this little ditty. Do it right and it will be a viral sensation!

Congratulations, David, you have succeeded where I failed! For five years, I have been working on s parody for this song, and I've simply run out of rhymes - even after consulting rhymezone-dot-com. I also have concerns for MYSELF regarding using the yodel lines directly. I write with the purpose of eventual performance. I would spend too much time worrying that the copyright police would find the yodels inseparable from the melody line. So there's that delaying me too. Since you just write alternate lyrics, you are on more solid ground.
