Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Girl From Altoona"

Parody Written by:

Jared & Shawnee

The Lyrics

Written about and with my lovely girlfriend, who has a very low self-image :)
Tall and pale and scrawny and ugly
The girl from Altoona she goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - AHHH!

When she walks, she's like a train wreck
That smells so bad and looks so horrid
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - AHHH!

(Ooh) But I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her she's fugly
Yes, I would claw my eyes madly
But each day, when she walks right past me
I shriek, just like a banshee

Tall, (and) pale, (and) scrawny, (and) ugly
The girl from Altoona she goes walking
And when she passes , I retch - but she doesn't see (doesn't see)
(She just doesn't see, she never sees me,...)

"Ipanema": Four syllables. "Altoona": Three. Totally blows it right off the bat. As do the Altoona Curve. (Class AA baseball team, a rival of my nearby team, the Trenton Thunder.) Now, if she were "The Girl from Pennsylvania," you'd have something. Or "The 'Hog from Punxsatawney."

Jared and Shawnee, you have a good concept, but you need to work and give it another try. ---------------------------------- I agree with the above comment on syllables. You need to use something like, "The crone from old Altoona goes hobbling ...". --------------------------------------------- For the original, "Tall and tan and young and lovely," you have "Tall and pale and scrawny and ugly ...". You need to use something like, "Small and pale and old and ugly ...". ----------------------------------------- You have "... each one she passes goes - AHHH!" But that is what the original has, and the "AHHH" seems to be complimentary. You need to use something like "AWWW!" or "AYYYY!" or "GAHHH!" ----------------- Don't use "fugly," whatever that is supposed to mean. And when she passes, each one she passes goes - AHHH!

Olha que rímas mais maus e não apropriadas saõ aún tres silabas, na 'Altoona' (AHHH!)
