The Lyrics

OS had been done several times before, but this group took it to #5 in the UK and #21 in the US, so they were credited.

It's also on The Beatles album, "Live At The BBC", which consisted mostly of unreleased songs, and while the album charted very high, they never released this as a single, and the album was regarded by many critics as being more noteworthy as a history of the growth and development of the group than for the quality of individual songs.
For readers' sake
We got some nifty, spiffy Shakes
William -Speare retakes
We just keep riffing tipsy Shakes

In grave, rant: poor Will:
Our insipid, flip remakes
Yeah, we pick on Bill now
With our ripofffs, how he aches
Song of witchy hags, Oh
Pot bubbles, and it bakes

Well, we tore up poor MacBeth
Made fun of Hamlet's plight
And Romeo's a flake rake
He stares all night
But maybe...

Juliet, he'll take
Get her in the sack, Whoa!
His slipp'ry bippy shakes!

Well, now, AmIRight's bereft
"Naught else can these two write
"Just zip the lip, a break, take
"They're no delight
"Oh, say, we:"

"Guys, get off of Shakes
"Yo, these two are whack, oh!
"What next? J. Caesar's wake?
"How Marc Antony so spake?
"For horse, my Kingdom, take? [1]
"No, this Shakespeare's a mistake"

Love the "His slipp'ry bippy shakes!" line in your song! Nice to put the Shakespeare to the beat, folks! While I read/sang your parody, I was dancing and twisting, of course, while I was sitting on my swivel chair! I got the "shakes", "peering" all over your ditty! I shall giveth thee 3 sets of 5's!

There may be something rotten in Denmark, but not in this work. Do one about yourselves, and perchance call it "The Gaming Of The Shrewd." ;D

A-g-a-i-n...really well done FG n' TT... And, forsooth! May the fickle finger of fives forever foment your super slippy bippy's quippies!

Mark Scotti: But less successful in "returning", according to the theology! :)

Christie Marie M: LOL at "shakes-peering!! (@ FG: Did you miss that excellent pun, m'dear?) So glad we make you so happy -- it makes us happy! Thanks!

2Eagle: I can spell it (for the record, it's "Dostoyevsky"); I just can't get through an entire book. He's soooo dull. (Parody: "He's So Fine" by The Chiffons = "He's So Dull"). ... Thanks for v/c!

Old Man Ribber: LOL as usual! ... but 'twoud be a bit immodest to do that about ourselves (TT is *famous* for his humility, as everyone knows ;). But, uh, you're welcome to do it! (hint, hint ;) Thanks for v/c!

Phil Nelson: Thanks!

Dostoyevsky dull? That's news to me. I read The Brothers Karamozov and found it fascinating.

2Eagle: To each their own, I guess. You'd probably find dull some of the books that I like, etc. -- it'd be a pretty boring world if we were all alike, eh? :-)
