The Lyrics

Came up with the idea independently; checked to see if it had been done before, and it seems that alvin rhodes did it five years ago. Very different spin here, though. ... Hope it's taken as intended: as *satire and riducule* of stereotyping; certainly *not* in support of it. ... OS video here.

[spoken)
He looked my way, and he hung around,
And treated me really nice
But when my parents found out 'bout him
Such tears, bring, in currents cold as ice

[sung: HER PARENTS:]

Your boyfriend's black? We just don't know how you coulda'
(Grandma, Grandpa, of kids half-black)
Dear, you're bein' dumb, 'n are you totally meshuge?
(Get her a shrink; the poor girl's wack)
Hoped you'd find yourself a modern Mark Spitz **
(Swim-ming's OK, not field and track)
Not hang in bars, but attend his son's Bar Mitz'
(I think I had... a heart attack)

Wished: a Jewish boy who's gentle
Not... some pimped-out Continentalâ„¢

Rap sheet long? What *was* his last crime?
(Shoplift? Assault? A car, hijack?)
And live in shack? No daught-er of mine!
(He wants one thing: to feel your rack)
You're gonna be sorry you were ever "kissed"
(Oy vay, oy vay, her boyfriend's black!)
'Cause it's kinda long, and it ain't been brissed
(All night, all day: flat on your back)

Scrimped... for years; it's so pathetic
Him: a scholarship, athletic
Did you not think how your poor mother cries?
He's a grown man now; it's too late to circumcise
Plait hair, he?

We've kept the faith unto the thousandth generation
(Some day, nab him; in jail, they'll lock)
Our son-in-law, we hoped: physician's education
(My Son, The Doc, my daughter's Doc!)

Yeah, he must deal crack
Or maybe, a little smack ***

Best end for this drama:
May he be the next Obama
(Half-white kid? eh, oh, what the hey?)
So, money, lack
But our blessings: both of you...

** Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz, born into a Jewish family, former holder of record for most Golds in a single Olympics -- seven -- in 1972, a record that stood until Michael Phelps broke it in 2008.

***" "smack" = heroin.

Oi, such a song! Seriously, I agree with and applaud your preface. And...it does end with their blessing. Mazeltov, Homey! ;D

Ditto OMR's sentiments--and definitely no need to check *your* mirth certificate*, heh!

Stereotypically, the satirical Power of the Schvartz was well and truly with ewe on this trench run!

Reminds me of the old flick, "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner"..Very "Spencer" in your summations. You win the case, Atty Turtle.

oBama said there'd be 'lays' like this . . . there's be lays like this, oBama said ! . . . She's dumb & he's hung; this is often a frequent pairing, Sir !

Old Man Ribber: LOL! Salaam, amigo!

Lush Rimshot: LOL^2 @ "mirth", and may the Schvartz be with you!

AFW: That flick *did* flick through the pea-brain. And in view of the kind vote-comment, will overlook the insult. (TT a *lawyer? Sheesh... : ) :-) j/k!

Michael Pacholek: We've discussed: The Pentateuch, of course!

LadyCupCakes: Do you *ever* post songs yourself, and if so, under what nick? "'Bama Said There'd Be Days Like This" is a SUPREME concept for a political parody, even though actual OS done by their contemporaries, The Shirelles. ... Agree that "dumb 'n hung" is a frequent pairing, and so is "Trophy Thing 'n Larry King". ... If you don't want to do that parody concept, may I put it away for future use?

EVERYONE: LCC's comments are starting to make sense to me! How worried should I be? ... lol j/k, LCC! xoxox :-D

John Barry: Thanks for the beer! (Ballantine, IIRC) And this Bud's for you...

Good parody. Surprized something like this wasn't made by now. This sort of thing has been mentioned by many writers for eons - check out "Othello" by William Shakespeare. Let's not forget - the late Sen. Strom Thurman, who supported segregation and stuff, he had a daughter from a sexual relationship with a teenage black girl - and he paid hush money to keep it quiet. Some things are done by their loudest critics. Also, many Americans have a "red man" in their family trees meaning there probably ain't very many "pure race" people in America now. Still, some people still got a problem about that "white/black" issue. Kudos! Turtle power!

Actually, yes, TT is familiar with Othello, as with most of Shakespeare's major works, having parodied "Hamlet" seven or eight times (mostly the soliloquy, but also Lord Polonius' advice to son), "Romeo & Juliet", "Julius Caesar", etc. Check my author page, and also that of the writing team of "Fiddlegirl and Tommy Turtle", and just search "Shakespeare".. since you gave me a recommendation to check out, that's only fair, right? ;-)

Couldn't agree with you more. Thanks for the kudos, power, and v/c!

SenorTaTa, please 'go ahead ' and use any words/phrasing that I can muster, Sir ! . . . I received a 'Pinto' brain . . . it's no Ferrari, Sir ! I do the best with what the Creator hath blessed me with.

norCalCakes: I shall indeed put that concept in the "ideas" folder, perhaps for when my collaborator returns from vacation. .. You hath been blessed with a wonderful and unique sense of expression that is truly thine own, and thy blessings on the works of this poor reptile are always muchly appreciated!
